Had some awesome chips arrive today from @Krony. Looks like I will need to start searching for other denominations to fill a set :sneaky:

These arrived from @Marius L . Not of much interest to most folks, but I find them fascinating and am glad to own them.

The symbols on these Paulson THCs are the same ones you can find on Paranoid chips - early 20th c. chips from USPCC, predating Paulson by decades. My guess is that these THC symbol chips are from the early days of Paulson's output and represent a transitional period, when casinos and cardrooms were starting to use fancy custom inlays but there was still a demand for symbol chips based on the well-established USPCC lines.

The symbols on these Paulson chips are lithographically printed on round inlays, the same way that any other Paulson inlay chips are made, as opposed to the Paranoids which used die-cut inlays in the shape of the symbols themselves. Paranoids have no mold designs, while of course these chips used the THC molds. And Paranoids, like most early 20th c. chips, are quite light, but these are nice and heavy: 10 ounces, and probably leaded.

I have to say these chips feel amazing, probably the best I have in my admittedly small collection. They're heavy, they're soft, and they have this wonderful low-pitched clacking sound when riffled. They feel even better than my Starbursts, which also feel great, but most of which are minty, chalky, and sharp-edged; these symbol chips are perfectly broken-in. I want a huge pile of them to run my hands through as I rake in the pot. I want to do this:

I've only seen these types of chips a few times. I had a few, and now I have half a rack. I'll be on the lookout for more.

Glad you like them! Now I feel kinda bad for not selling you the peaches as well. @HaRDHouSeiNC when you get them in hand, and if you ever wanna let them go, please consider passing them along to @CrazyEddie.

Thanks, but I'm good! Peach isn't one of my favorite colors. :)

I'll be on the lookout for more of these chips, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna take 'em. :D

Serious thank you for the opportunity @ceramicmike ... BarrieJ3 had a sample of these at our place for a while when he was in Paris. Absolutely broke my heart the day they left, never thought I would see that amazing Terqoise T5k again... now it can live on my pillow! Lol seriously one of the best chips I have ever seen.

From what I gather, these are produced by Cartamundi! I won't be able to open them until the day comes when @Pippa attends his first game at my place. I'll break out these sweet ass cards....

Oh..it gets better...he also hooked me up with a Horseshoe Cleveland cut card. What did I do to deserve the friends I got?!?:cool:)

@Jeevansluck that’s an awesome score!

I haven’t been able to locate any Grimaud cards. I’ve been looking for 2-pip jumbos though.
