Surprise. Lol. Glad you got them. I was trying to figure out how long to let it go before I needed to tell you to look for them. I saw you were playing cards yesterday, so I was going to give it until tomorrow. Haha.

We literally grabbed them out of the mail box on the way to the card game. Opened them in the truck because... who the hell really has the will power to not open packages when you know there are chips inside! Lol

Either way again thank you, I love that color line up!

Three new arrivals late last week while I was away.

AD-PioneerPen+ACF25.jpeg

First a fountain pen with Pioneer Club branding on it. I haven't looked at the state of the internal workings yet, and probably won't bother. If it's half as old as I suspect and having been in some forgotten drawer it would probably need a lot of love. The clip is broken off (seen at the top right) and the little lever to fill the pen seems like it has a lot of corrosion on it. I have a friend who is a much bigger pen freak than I am and might have him take a look.

The ACF 25 chip is an addition to my singles collection. I have others without the Euro markings as well as a couple with.

The fun one has to be this, with a chip for size reference. In the days before solvers and GTO play, how else would one figure out what to do in a hand?? It's essentially a wooden slide-rule. According to the instructions, you line up what you have in your hand at the stage of the game with the solid line to the right. In this case, we have a straight after the first raise after the fifth card in 5-card stud or after the first raise after the draw in 5-card draw. Both cases say we should raise, being the arrow is pointing at the green part of the color strip.

Kind of a fun piece of older poker "strategy". I can't read the cancellation on the original envelope it came in, but the copyright on this says 1960.

Just got these in the mail today shoutout to @JWC! First tourney set. Buy once cry once. Y’all aren’t kidding when you say pics don’t do them justice. The colors on these are INSANE. Couldn’t be more excited. Now for a case and my Kathy racks to show up!

Congrats!!! Easily my favorite tournament chips I’ve come across.

Bought these on eBay last week…

Probably overpaid but who knows. Saving them for future kids!

Nice buy, these are awesome! When the listing showed as ended I was hoping the seller was just relisting for less. Think I've only seen them listed once before and it went high as well. They're definitely unicorns.

They sold on this site for less than $100 3 years ago. Then a few months ago north of $800. LOL

In today's episode of "What did Oscar get in the mail following his text he showed a week or so ago?" Well here you are, more of the "E<>L" Johnny's Card Room $1s and $5s. The chips that were found in the garage after I thought I had bought all that he had. BUT, this time I'm not sure who packed this box...... Just by handling the box I knew that they were loose inside. Thankfully none of them were damaged. Just shows some people need to pack these things with more caution sometimes. This brings my set of these close to 3 racks of $5s and I believe 3 racks of $1s! Hope you enjoy!
