Saw this thread when it first appeared.
Figured it would devolve into a shit show.
Came back to it today and determined that I was not wrong.
I will return to my set-building niche of the hobby now. One that I'm not sure anybody else has done yet. Or would want to.

That's the way to go, these days. Find something you love that nobody else has or loves and build it Johnny Cash style!

That call's been made before by some douche, slightly different, but the same.... People suck.
I’m sure it has. I wouldn’t because I don’t care enough. I’m just having fun with these reindeer games. But I get why someone would make that call. People need to be prepared for the repercussions if they don’t share their goodies with the whole class.

Some of us share “THE GOODIES!”

I think my point is being misunderstood here. My point is that GPI/Angel does not have a case to pursue legal action in a situation where their chips and equipment fall into hands other than a casino. What's stopping a willing card room or casino manager from hooking up a friend with the intent of giving them the chips, though on the record, they're buying from GPI for their own "VIP Room" or "private event"?

I may not have been here long, and I have no first hand knowledge of it happening, but let's not bury our heads in the sand. Exactly this has happened already, or it's been strongly insinuated as such.

I'm not at all comparing your business to these "private buys" (I refuse to call them NAGB's). I'm aware that your business operates well within legal bounds. My main point is that GPI/Angel suing a casino or card room for having their assets fall into hands other than that entity would be akin to suing The Chip Room. The idea of it is preposterous and what was being discussed at that time in this thread.

You're providing an excellent service to this community and hobby by bringing more chips into it when demand is at an all time high. As a multiple and repeat happy customer myself, the last thing I want to do is to antagonize someone that spends a lot of time and money to make it happen. I apologize if my post was construed in a way that I lumped you in with these other expidentures. That was not my intention.
Depends on what is stipulated in the contract/purchase agreement between GPI and the “authorized” buyer.

Whether it’s worth their time and effort is certainly up for debate. However, their legal bearing to bring suit would generally be a function of the T&C’s contained within the Agreement.

If only we knew anybody who's seen one of those contracts . . .
