Someone supposedly signed a NDA. If it’s true,

1-3 per chip goddamn I can't stop laughing
I’m hoping that who ever Papa Chipper (the guy who financed it) I hope that they didn’t pay more than $1-3/chip. If they paid $20/chip for the yellows directly to Paulson they are a straight up fool. Somebody paid a reasonable ammount for them and then lined up the buyers and fleeced them.

Agreed

They wouldn’t have paid more than $4 a chip and that’s the delivered price to almost the far corners of the earth.

FYI, it’s not difficult to actually process the order. You just have to have the right people who work at a licensed casino put in the order for you. The connection and the willingness is the hardest part. Once that person says yes, it’s all yours.

“Sir please sit down and sign this NDA so as not to disclose any information on how we just duped a chip manufacturer into making chips for private use. What’s that? What is the document? Well, we’re making you sign something to cover up on something that falls under unethical business practices. Why the 21 questions peasant? If you want some of what’s ordered, shut the hell up and sign. Speak about it, and we’ll sue you.”

I didn’t realize that people signed fucking NDA’s for this lol. One day we are gonna piss Paulson off when they realize that a whole group of chippers has been going around them and buying these chips which they shouldn’t be able to get. Screw the NDA’s and the people who think they’re gonna get sued for talking about the secret chips buys. One day Paulson is gonna can the connection that gets them the chips and sue the parties involved. It’s been said here before that it’s a major selling point for them that they don’t sell to the public and I can’t imagine they are happy about this.

DB11 is the way to go with the proper wheels. Otherwise their lineup is meh. Make it a December to remember.
I was not kidding.

The "local" dealership had a "movie prop" on display. I'd take that any day.

Also much less than $20 a chip. That's insane. I mean, so stupid, that as a chip collector, I could go off on a @Hammer2171 rant.

...but I wouldn't be so epic.

I hoping the Paulson connection gets a little cut because he’s putting his ass on the line to make this stuff happen. Also in my time here I’ve come to the conclusion that Chip Papa is likely a MASSIVE player in casinos and has connections from thier hosts at those properties. That or they previously worked in the industry and made connections that way. I’m any case making orders like this through a casino is gonna require connections both at the casino and at Paulson.

Or maybe one day Paulson will realize it's a futile effort and offer us custom chips again (wishful thinking I know)

Please.

GPI/Angel has no leg to stand on if they try to sue a casino or card room for selling them gaming equipment for a "special event" or "High Roller" area, for example, and once said event occurs or if the high roller area never opens or fizzles out due to lack of interest, that casino turns around and auctions off or sells the equipment to the highest bidder in a state in which the gaming commission allows it. The same could be true for a locale that buys equipment but never opens a la Jack Detroit.

Are they going to sue Jim at the Chip Room, and all others that buy defunct chips and equipment and then resell it publicly for buying property a casino or card room bought but is no longer using?

The level of paranoia, accusation, hypothesizing and innacurate info in this thread is hilarious and hasn’t been seen since the first Masshole Boat Chip debacle. Which the newer members are clearly not familiar with…
A lot of the first NAGB GB disaster has been deleted off the fourm so you have to go off of second hand info. As a person who spent an inordinate ammount of time researching that situation it was hard to find info and took dedication. I’m sure most newer members would be happy if you would share though since it would remove a lot of the mystery that imo causes divides. Knowledge is power and those that have knowledge and refuse to share it for whatever reason are the powerful. I for one can think of very few reasons related to chipping that I would not share information. If o had it but couldn’t share I wouldn’t say anything. If I had it and could share I would. I encourage you to do the same.

You bring up a very good point and honestly you’re right. There isn’t really a difference beyond the fact that the rep knew what the deal was. So if anyone is gonna get in trouble it will be the rep.

Now you're getting it :)

I know more than some, less than others and although my NDA has expired, I’ll let them speak for themselves if they choose too.

I can think of many reasons to not let some of the info out to the public

AFAIK it is from a real casino in Trinidad and Tobago. I’m of the opinion that they did a workaround and used the casinos licence to purchase chips from GPI using that casinos logo, but designed the edge patterns themselves. I mean what casino has that many chips and a full Cali and Vegas set. Either way I like them quite a bit and hope that there were a lot ordered so there are enough to go around.
The name is from a real casino, but the inlay isn't that casino's logo.

I’m
No hypothesizing here. I’ve spoken directly to a GPI/Angel sales rep. It’s not like I’m yanking this info out of my ass. I’m putting in an order myself, come hell or high water and it won’t be for profit. Small enough to be personal yet not small enough to eliminate the chances of some very deserving people owning a piece of it. You can screenshot that and send it to wherever and whomever. It won’t change the fact that a crate will arrive at a location that belongs to me. Does it make me any more important than others on this site? Absofuckinglutely not.
Honestly, the fact that you’re willing to make a set and then publicly say you’re gonna sell at cost says a lot about your character. You have always been an upstanding chipper and this really shows it. Respect to you man!

I respect you Kyle, and I have no dog in this fight (and, in fact, I'm all for more chips in the hobby), but let's not pretend that the total profit for the key participants in this buy wont hit 7 figures and that that profit wasn't a motivating factor for how the chips were acquired and distributed.

Next time you talk to them, can you say the the below?

"So listen up, there was this casino in California City, California that closed in the 80's. My understanding is that casinos can never use the same color/spot patterns. Since this color/spot combo is dead to new casinos anyway, what would you think if I could guarantee you a min 100k order for said chips?"

Super kind of you to think of me. Thanks Zaki!:cool;)
