Bringing chips in at modest profit is one thing.... theyre fantasy chips for F&%@ sake $20 a chip?? please
I hear your argument, man — but just remember that it takes two to tango with regards to there being (seemingly plenty of) willing buyers, too.

As @davislane just so aptly put it: "We all have a choice what we are prepared to pay to own chips, if you arent prepared to pay the price, there are always other options available."

When all is said and done, is there really much difference between: somebody paying $20 for a visually appealing fantasy chip; somebody paying Jim $20 for a high denom IHC from a shutdown casino; someone like you and I paying Spinettis $20 for a TRK chip we need to complete a barrel or rack? Whether we like it or not, the motive is the same across all three situations: profit.

Can't we all just get along  :ROFLMAO:

Last I remember, being part of a NAGB makes you no more and no less important than anybody else who wasn’t a part of it. I’m not sure what makes certain individuals speak down to others simply because of certain accomplishments. It’s like a doctor telling his patient, “wanna see my PhD on my wall?” News flash, patient doesn’t give a fuck. Just wants the right treatment.
Oh, god, I hope the doc has more than a PhD!

To those of you that got chips in the buy, good for you all. Had I had the opportunity, I would have done the same thing. I’m sure everyone would have. I personally don’t see the sense in turning this into an argument as it won’t change anything whether you think you’re right or wrong. Hopefully, we all get an opportunity to make these purchases at some point.

I will say in defense of the people involved: I’ve been a part of a couple of group buys and the people running them take on a lot of responsibility. I can perfectly understand why someone would keep the number small and limited to reliable individuals (thus the privacy).

I hope you guys enjoy your chips and you “showcase” more chips. They look pretty awesome.

get this completely level headed and logical post out of here!!!

Ok maybe the Arabic on me is strong and Kus ommak is a bit harsh.

Point here for everyone reading, just be nice to people. Whether or not some don’t have the same privileges as another doesn’t make them less of a human being. We’ve all seen another member in specific piss all over everybody and how that turned out. Just be humble, for the love of God lol

So who bought these at the IPO?

@softchewy did

Who else? Let’s list them out. Also I think it would be nice of them to be transparent in how much they paid.

I was offered but declined after some consideration. They were offered to me at $8-15 for 39mm chips. I’ve seen some prices of 43mm chips that wanted up to around $30ish/chip.

I’m sure friends of the two <unnamed> pre-IPO buyers from GPI got them at a deal.

I congratulate those who got them, especially at big discounts!! Seriously. No hate here. I’m more interested in what the transacted prices were for IPO buyers.

Additionally, internet communication lacks tone hence why meetups are so important. Sometimes online personalities take over and give off the wrong impression.

Peace on earth. We hope lol

You’re not that important and no such information will be shared with you without signing a NDA. Move along.

I mean from what I read it looks like it’s just an NAGB situation. A few guys get an invite (the in circle) they are all wealthy enough and make a big purchase and pay a reasonable price (1-3/chip). The out circle sees it and is upset they weren’t invited and now has to pay obscene prices for these chips from to get them from the guys in the “in circle”. From what I’ve gathered this is what has happened or what is gonna happen. It’s already been said that the “in circle” had off fourm/private sales amgost themselves to get them. The only thing I’m missing is that allegedly (and I can’t confirm this) there were private subfourms (not PM’s) that were only visible to the “in crowd” so they could coordinate. Either way I smell NAGB on this one and I herby predict a big rift will be caused in the community same way as the OG NAGB situation. If you wanna spill the beans to someone who won’t say anyone can feel free to PM me. I won’t say a word, b I’m genuinely curious about how stuff like this goes down.

The question is never if one would say yes to buy minty paulson chips. It is the aftermarket price that hurts some members and to be fair it is understandable. Some players get to pay a lower price and other pay premium so original buyers might end in a filthy profit.

In a dream world you could sell these chips for 2-3$ to be nice to the community but when the next person flipps them for 10$ a piece then he is the one making the profit not you. Supply and demand control the price and sadly there is nothing we can do about it. Congratz on the new chips those who got them!

I personally think it is very childish to scream bad inlay or say what you don´t like about chips other members are getting. Many people paid a lot for their dream sets and they might not be to everybody's taste but they have the right to be happy about them. When members get there custom sets we don't shit in their breakfast about what we don't like about them. We are happy with them as more chips are made into the world.

So to be clear I have no horse in this race, but I would be pretty sad if I just got my dream set and many people that call them selves a community of chip lovers are shitting over them...

I applaud those who got this through also, but let's be clear. The initial buyers did not get these chips at a big discount...they got them at cost.

Resale price - cost = profit

I'm sure what @Changster meant was the close friends of the initial buyers. They probably got chips at a discount compares to the "market value " $15/chip+ prices.

So I'm new but I think I get what's going on here with the "NAGB" stuff. Are people just upset because they weren't let in on it to get profit or because they feel left out? Forgive my ignorance. I could see how it would be "scummy" to do it in secret then sell directly to the community for profit.. don't get me wrong.

Regardless of whether or not you like the chips, it's another option for people to buy and use or relabel them as a new custom set.

I think some of them look very cool, but not being in on a buy for profit doesn't bother me (obviously I wouldn't be included but that's besides the fact).

If you don't want them don't buy them, if you do, then it's a cool venture for the person that can afford to buy them. I find it all kind of interesting, regardless. Enjoy your chips fellas.

Price I paid:

Peach 25¢ - $10/chip
White $1 - $8/chip
Royal Red $5 - $8/chip
8v $5 - $20/chip
Yellow $20 - $20/chip
Sherbet Green $25 - $8/chip
43mm Black $100 - $20/chip
43mm $500 - $18/chip

Depends on who you bent over for, I guess.

That's like saying MLMs are right.

Yes, they are legal, but boy are they not right.

In the end, someone has to pay, and it ends up being the forum.

I've said it a million times. If I could Thanos every NAGB chip, I would and never care again. It's fine they are here. I actually really enjoy the people who grab a set and enjoy them. I think more people use them as a savings account and trade fodder. They are all fine chips, but what it does each time it happens is not worth the price IMO. And each time it raises a marker. Yeah, sweet. My leaded set us worth more. Woo. I'd rather everyone come here, love the hobby, grow, adventure then come here and spend a grand on clay discs.

Yeah, I'm an "idealist". My 20 year old self would beat my ass.
