100%. Same goes for pizza. Don’t @ me.
Who knew a burger thread could be Debbie downer’d.

Further proof that folks here will make absolutely anything and everything controversial on PCF... eat a damn burger the way you want! For the record I am 100% down to try the 50/50 burger @RocAFella1 ... but only if we can pay extra to put MORE shit on it! Keep pulling it on dudes!! 1/2 pound of pulled pork, a crab cake (Maryland style), a slice of fish, 4 other types of cheese. The more ridiculous... the more likely I am to choose it... I don't care the price.

I absolutely love when the waitress looks at you with her eyes bugging out and says "you want me to ask them to make what???" Or "sir, no one actually orders that... it's more of a novelty thing for our menu!" My typical respone... "you're right, I'll take two!" Same thing with ANY hot sauce challenge. I have never backed down of failed to complete the challenge.

Agreed. Can we please get this thread back on track and post pics of hamburger sandwiches?

Agreed!

Five Guys earlier on this evening. Very much the RHC of the burger world: reliable and enjoyable but a bit overpriced — and you know there are much better options out there.

Usually I wouldn’t think of RHC as a complimentary term. But if you’re using it to mean the second best, I can get on board. 5 guys makes the best fast food burgers I’ve ever eaten. I don’t even really consider them fast food, except that’s what they are. Sure you can make a better burger at home or get a better burger in a restaurant where you’re paying more for the service. But I don’t like paying $18 for a burger. And I do like 5 guys a lot.

Also - I just had the most amazing meatball sub. And I think I will make the case that it’s just a longish Italian cheeseburger.

Don't get me wrong, Five Guys is really good, just not $20 good — which is what I paid for all that and a drink.

Shake Shack is superior on every level, in my opinion.

Thank god you said it before I had to lay the smack down. Five guys can’t possibly be the best fast food burgers when shake shack exists. Hands fucking down

A cheeseburger (which is a double) is $9.19. That seems like a good price to me, these days, based on the size of the thing.
But anyway, I’ll check out shake shack when I get a chance - I don’t think there are any around me. It’s just hard to imagine anybody doing a fast food burger better than five guys. Their beef is fresh and good.

I cook some mean burgers at home. Love getting them at nice restaurants but with three young kids that’s not an enjoyable experience. So I’ve been limited latley. I look forward to the day when I can go out again because takeout burgers suuuuuuck.

But I came here so say that for the price a bacon McDouble is a GD modern miracle at like $3. How is it even possible.
