The Unofficial Official Best Worst Deals Thread! (48 Viewers)

Lowering the price $5 may have sent out an alert to anyone watching “price has lowered”.

But honestly, If you want a response out of a customer watching a particular item, try RAISING the price. Counterintuitive and very effective.

This will have a customer calling you and all of of sudden engaging with your product trying to understand why the price went up. Gets engagement and a reaction!

Someone should try it, bet it works!

You are sitting there watching chips for sale, hoping the price goes down, all of sudden, price goes up!

Guess what your doing....sending the seller a message YO WHATS UP WITH THAT? I WAS GOING TO BUY THEM IF THEY WENT TO $4/CHIP. WHY DID YOU GO FROM $5 TO 6? I'LL TAKE THEM AT 5! LOL

Flat line pricing is better than $XX,995 pricing as well.

Here’s an example;

You should price everything flat line to get more search results, and appear to be the best price within the range.

Car dealership, or poker chip collector, lists his 2018 Accord for $19,995.

Customer goes to cars.com and searches for Honda accords $15,000-$20,000. Guess what…he is damn near the highest price within that search range.

Now customer searches Honda Accords $20,000-$25,000. That same Accord is priced the best, but falls out of the search parameters ($19,995).

Pricing the accord at $20,000 would have yielded better search results than $19,995. He would have appeared in BOTH searches, and the BEST price in one of the search results over $5.

This is called Flat line pricing.. All of our used cars end in ,000 or ,500 to get the most search results and appear at the lower price of a search range. Same goes for any item. Probably not as relevant in poker chips, but I think of this anytime someone prices it $x,995.

Extremely impactful in real estate, boats, auto etc.

I did a fair amount of research into this back in b-school and now related to my business, which is a service business with prices in the ~$5-20k range. After that research I settled in on $XX,990 across the board. There is lots of data/research/papers on this but it definitely depends on many factors including the product/service, buyer mindset, clientele, geographics/demographics, sales environment, presentation of pricing information, etc. My business/service is very different than cars or commoditized goods though. Our pricing isn't even public let alone searchable. It is presented.

Flat line pricing definitely meant/benefit for website browsing / utilizing filters. Not all products.

Those are some NAGB prices! Bargain shipping though.
More importantly... why did "4 people watched in the last 24 hours" I'm really confused! Maybe it's because of the cheap shipping! Lol

Horrible breakdown that doesn't work and at those prices would take what $25k to make it playable (for two tables nobody needs 400 $1 on a single table)

As far as "catching a whale" @allforcharity I promise you ours are safe and sound sleeping down stairs

I have already sent the (5) $5 out for free to other chippers so those that are getting ready to ask. I don't have any more spares! Lol

Definitely a rack heavy on $.50 and would love a couple more racks of $5s and another rack of NPS T25s to over label as quarters. But our set is close to finished

And not going anywhere!
