Doesn't even stand on edgeWell it's a gorgeous chip, but...

Actually 119 new chip for $250 is a pretty good deal, despite the stupidest write-out that just make the seller look too desperate trying to sell the chips
There's gotta be some angle here. Just can't figure out what it is. Maybe wire return fraud or simply... not sending the chips. They're too desperate.Actually 119 new chip for $250 is a pretty good deal, despite the stupidest write-out that just make the seller look too desperate trying to sell the chips
I seriously hate these fluffing thieves.
Interesting. Here’s one devonrexcatlady has listed for sale. Seems like there’s a line of light grey clay (which seems to have crosshatching) between the “black clay” (no crosshatching) and inlay. Add to that the black smears on the inlay (from the paint/spray job?) and the funny look of the “black clay” itself and you’ve got one peculiar chip. Key is, how do you know the difference from one that was painted for a 70th birthday party and one that was painted to sell for more $?Thinking out loud here.
Been looking for this chip for awhile. Was about to pull the trigger tonight for around $40 shipped and then started thinking.

This chip is "rare". The backstory is these were painted black with gold sparkles and presented on top of cupcakes for Benny Binion's 70th birthday. No way a bunch of them exist. How many cupcakes did they have? How many did they paint? They spray painted the existing $1 chips at the time.

But the seller has sold several over the years for around $40 shipped including 6 in the past three months and has another for sale.

Then I looked closer. They are using the same picture for each listing. You can tell because of the inlay placement and the hairs included in the pics when you zoom in.

Seller has near perfect feedback so people are getting their black cupcake chips.
So my new late night Friday a few beers deep detective theory:
Bro is spray painting a bunch of mostly worthless standard $1s black, adding some gold specs and selling them to buyers for forty bucks a pop, right?
