Perlon is pretty cool.

I wish there were more places to get service around here. Stores won’t even change a watch strap let alone do anything else.
I do them for people I like. :bigbucks:

Of course I'm just a self-trained hobbyist. Some things are beyond my skill set and a man has to know his limits.

I’m trying to get something gaudy like this to replace the broken one on my Blancpain.

Getting spun around in circles trying to order one in the right size and if compatible with my deployant clasp.
I don't know why finding nice straps in the right size and clasp type is SOOOOO PAINFULL, but it seems like I experience that every time I look for a new strap. Good luck!!

@DirtyTIVA it depends upon the clasp type, but in my experience a butterfly should end up sitting relatively in the same place as the buckle so it should generally work fine (unless the strap is crazy thick I guess). Other clasps tend to need a shorter than usual short part of the strap or they'll sit to the side, and you either find a strap meant for a clasp instead of a buckle, or go custom. If the original strap was a good fit for your wrist, would be best to take its measurements and go from there (and make adjustments to the measurements as you see fit).

you have a Blancpain? post photo.

I have a Fifty Fathoms. I replaced the bezel with the grand date bezel since the OEM had a chip. I also have several oem and aftermarket straps.

I’ve been talking to someone at Timedome in Vegas as they are supposed to be a Jean Rousseau AD. Short of me ordering something bespoke (which will be hard since my address is in California and they frown on words like crocodile), we can’t find something to order before my next trip to Vegas for EDC.

All my other gold watches don’t have brown straps anymore so visually I’d like to do something different here as well. Hence metallic gold croc or even semi matte flat croc. I like the feel of thin alligator from 20 years ago. All of todays alligator straps seem to be thick.

Check out ABP Concept? They have a number of leathers- might find something cooler.

I just spent the week in London and happened to have some time to check out a number of the boutiques and such. Can't say I was impressed with most of the sales people in the brand shops. I think only one even knew that watches and wonders was going on and then they still had no idea about what their own brand had announced. I will say that one guy in the Omega boutique was pretty cool and has the same favorite Omega as I do which was pretty rare (Speedmaster Japan Racing 3570.40).

Also, the security in some of those shops is INTENSE. Double automatic doors with pretty much an airlock. I legit felt like I was decompressing from scuba diving or something.

The last time I got a new band was back in 2017, this guy was highly recommended on some forums. My dealing with him back then was very straight forward and the band was pretty good quality from what I could tell.

Maybe try to reach out to Peter to see if he can make you something.

I’m going to Bucherer next month to try on different options. Also the Blancpain boutique in the forum shops closed. Worst case I visit the JR retail store in NYC later this year.
