Deck replacement is bulls*it. Costs as much as a new car and adds no value to the house. Oh, and I lose half my driveway and all entrances at the main level, so because the dog is old and doesn't do stairs so good, we are living in the basement. Oh, 2 weeks it will be done. My aching ass, 6 weeks at best. Sigh.....

Tell me about it. We have a massive (740 sq ft) deck on the house. 100% in sun most of the day.

It is an endless journey of stain, board and rail replacement. Trex would last longer, but would cost nearly $15,000 if I were instal it myself. Given that it is so hot most of the summer I spend most my time indoors. I'd estimate I'm paying about $150 an hour to sit on my deck.

We are putting Trex on both front and back, so yeah, $$$. I am too unskilled to do it myself, so paying a decking contractor to do it. Plus it would take me a year or more and probably not save a penny after I had to redo something 4 times.

I don't think I'd ever design or have built a traditional wood deck. I would rather have a stone or concrete patio.
 
Agree that would be better, but non-level ground and two story exits, makes it pretty much a no.

Easy life: Band say easyJet owner suing over name​

A band has said they are being forced to change their name by the owners of easyJet, who have started legal action against them.

Easy life said the airline's parent company easyGroup was suing them because their name was too similar.

The Leicester band said they were certain they had never affected the company's business.

EasyGroup said it would be "unfair" to let the band use the "easy" brand name without royalty payments.

In a statement on social media, easy life said the band were being sued because of the similarity of their name to the company.

"We've worked hard to establish our brand. I'm certain in no way have we ever affected their business," the band said.

"Although we find this whole situation hilarious, we are virtually powerless against such a massive corporation."

This happens over and over again and there's nothing the little guy can do except hope adverse publicity forces the abuser to reverse course.

Does all their marketing center around using the easyJet branding? No idea about this band or easyJet but the poster in the article is interesting, using edited pictures of easyJet branding isn't helping them lol.

Hadn't seen that and while you're right that it probably isn't helping there's still no reason they shouldn't be able to do that - no one is getting confused that they are somehow associated with the Easy brand and it's not disparaging in any way. It's a play on something that is well known, nee ubiquitous, and brand owners can just let it slide rather than being knobs about it.

I getcha, they definitely shouldn't, but these huge companies pay tons of money to develop and push certain branding. Using almost the exact same branding on an international tour's posters and t-shirts is very brazen. It doesn't have to be disparaging, its just using someone else's developed marketing/branding (lol, I know its a big topic on this site especially).

You answer your question, there's a reason that's well known and ubiquitous: easybrand/Jet/whaddeverdafuck pays tons of money to make it so. Using that imagery is asking for trouble. People see that jet and associate it with lots of other advertisements/brandings/commercials/shirts/whatever, whether we should or not, and that's why Easy Life used it: its eye catching and familiar and ingrained.

1) No direct flight from YVR to EDI!
2) The price of a non-stop YVR to LHR!
3) Legroom on long haul flights!
