@FordPickup92 @Ben8257 I want to speak up here, because I spoke up in the auction thread. At the time, I wasn't sure who did what, or why.
I said it felt dirty, because I had stopped watching an auction that was bid up to $50, and then saw the final bid was $40 - so yeah, it felt dirty at the time - honest reaction.
Now that I've heard the explanation, or course I believe that Brie didn't mean any harm, and I have no reason to have any changed opinions about anybody involved.
And in retrospect, it probably felt like I was kicking you guys when you were down - that wasn't my intention.

things that are major bullshit:

1. “dibs for” and “I retract my bid”-thanks @Tommy and @mods for having punishments or rules for that crap, it’s slimy and selfish

2. good people getting accidentally caught up in bullshit situations- sorry you’re going through this stuff @FordPickup92 . I don’t know you but many people I think are quality/cool always say that you and @Ben8257 are quality/cool as well. My comment about bid retractions being slimy is in the big scheme of things, i completely understand what happened was meant to be a good thing and not to hurt anybody.


Sucks when these things happen for all involved.

Same thing I posted over there. Does the onus to interpret and understand regulations lay with the users, or does explanation of said rules and repercussions lay with management/mod squad?

(and I say this knowing that they are under appreciated, unpaid heroes. To their credit, I’ve often been told why I’m being banned, or modded, or warned. But for someone to publicly say hey I should be told why I’m being modded/banned - when from the outside looking in it looks like a mistake - they probably shouldn’t just be wiped with a public note that you can’t discuss modding publicly. Kinda poopy to not privately tell someone why, then tell them they can’t ask publicly. Unless indeed, it’s on the users to reach out, in which case, stfu Barrie)

So much bs happening recently that I’ll try to fight the tide something that is not bullshit. Getting free pizzas on the reg for doing absolutely nothing. I never changed my Dominos address from after college and if there’s no new account tied to an address they still give whatever the last account was the points. Two things college kids can be counted on loving pizza and being too lazy to sign up for their own Dominos account. :cool

From someone whose been temporarily banned from the entire site for something that seemed quite subjective and unclear in hindsight... consequences are most effective when they are transparent, universal, and applied objectively.
