The analysis I am struggling with:

1. These are gorgeous chips;
2. I had a really good year last year that has provided me with some options that I do not normally have (or would not normally exercise);
2. My players would NEVER appreciate these for what they are, and would not be able to comprehend anyone spending more than $100 bucks or so on a set of chips (I gave up trying to educate them a long time ago);
3. I truly don't believe that I would be able to put them into play, at least not any time soon and not with the oblivious players at my home game. I know I should, but I also know that I likely won't. I'm working on that personality flaw, but see #2 above.
4. These are gorgeous chips.
5. If I am not going to put them into play, can I REALLY justify the purchase?
6. These really are some good looking chips.

Dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit

I can't believe that I'm seriously considering dropping $9k (which is approx what it will cost for a 2/5 set with some add ons) for freaking poker chips!!!

Which is to say, @kk405 and @JeepologyOffroad have done a fantastic job that I've even gotten to this point.

I generally only fly economy class on "Chip Air" (or even cargo lol), so this would be a radical departure for me.

My justification? The actual dollar cost of cobbling together a Paulson relabel set or CPC set is in the vicinity of $4-5/chip (factoring in shipping, milling, relabeling, design, etc.). And that fails to account for the time element -- months waiting for in demand, best in class craftspeople like @Gear and CPC to do their thing. And months and months of my own time, agonizing over details, changing designs, spot patterns, etc.

I.e., the total cost of a Tiger set is not far off the total cost of the above.

Like, when my wife and I were looking for a new apartment after our first kid was born, we ruled out fixer uppers and insisted on move in ready. For some, the reno process is fun, and I probably would've gotten some enjoyment out of it, but it would also add a lot of time and uncertainty despite being cheaper dollar-wise.

All that said, like any degen chipper here worth their (tiger?) stripes, I of course have both THC and RHC relabel projects in the works, along with four full sets (3 Paulson, 1 cards mold) and I haven't hosted a real life poker game since pre-pandemic and don't see that changing any time soon lol.

Unlike @Statesvegas, though, the folks I used to play with (and will again, it'll happen!) would appreciate the hell out of the Tiger chips.

IMO the 5/10 set needs more 500s and 1ks, and needs some 5ks (like the set up below minus the .25s)……

Spent way too much time seeing how I can possibly make this work for a awesome local 1/2 then often 5/5 or 5/10 late night cash game that varies and often ends nose bleed. I finally gave up, just not enough chips with tips, straddles, and jackpots etx. I’m sure I’ll get to play them one day at a meeting. I truly don’t want to vault them and I’m somewhat thankful for this breakthru. This turn of events (for many reasons) is not only really cool to watch unfold, it sparks an old fire and opportunity I had for me to order from GPI. Keep up the good work chippers, all in!!!

Can you post a picture of all the chips laid on together so we can compare primary and secondary? I might have to buy both sets to get the colors i want. Hard to tell though going back and forth page to page....

better yet....post one photo of all the chips laid out on the Sample Set sale page

I’ll get a sample set pic when I do the Cali sets

@kk405 a couple of questions about the process …

The OP states “If demand exceeds the number of available sets, a drawing will take place to give all interested parties a fair chance at purchasing a set.” I assume that’s done with respect to each set? In other words, if demand exceeds supply for 1/2 there will be a drawing for anyone that ordered 1/2. But if supply exceeds demand for 5/10, then all orders for 5/10 will be fulfilled. Is that right?

Also, I know total numbers are not being made available, but are certain sets more in supply than others? None of these breakdowns fit my game perfectly, so I’m trying to decide which set to order. Thanks.
