Have you tried the "Bada Bing" cherries? They are what I typically use. I believe they are local to the PNW so not sure everyone else would have access.

I'll give the recipes of 4 drinks from my James Bond menu every Sunday for the next 6 weeks. All of these I got from on-line resources, and some have been modified in order to either streamline my ingredients list, or to adjust volumes to make it easier on my bartender and to get some reasonable consistency among drink volumes. Feel free to make your own substitutions for your favourite brands, or make them smaller or larger as you wish. Some can even be turned into shooters. Let me know if you like a particular one!

#1/24: Jamaica Hop (inspired by the Exotic Location of Dr. No)
1oz coffee liqueur
1oz white crème de cacao
1oz half-and-half
shaken

#2/24: Blonde Russian (inspired by the Bond girl - Tatiana Romanova, played by Daniela Bianchi - in From Russia With Love)
3/4oz vodka
3/4oz coffee liqueur
1+1/2oz Irish cream liqueur
shaken

#3/24: Goldfinger (inspired by the Villain - Auric Goldfinger, played by Gert Froebe - in Goldfinger)
2oz vodka
1oz Goldschlager
shaken

#4/24: Rocket Fuel (inspired by the Gadget - personal jet pack - in Thunderball)
1oz vodka
1oz tequila
1oz light rum
shaken

One should *always* make Margaritas from scratch!

The recipe is very simple: 3 to 1 to 1
3 Tequila
1 Triple Sec
1 Lime Juice

Depending on volume, the 1 may be cups, a multiple of ounces, etc. The above as cups is 5 cups of liquid, which will increase in volume with the melted ice. Therefore, you may vary it depending on refills.

Here is what I do:
  1. Fill 2 margarita glasses with ice and water (to get them cold)
  2. Fill a pitcher with cubed ice (not crushed)
  3. Add Tequila, Triple Sec, and Lime Juice
  4. Stir
  5. Fill a small plate with good salt
  6. Empty the margarita glasses and rim the edge with a wedge of lime (the salt will stick better)
  7. Tap the glasses gently into the salt for coverage - amount varies by preference
  8. Fill glasses with crushed ice
  9. Pour margarita from pitcher, blocking ice from pouring out
  10. Hook the lime wedge to edge of glass
  11. Serve
A few key items:
  • Good tequila - since it's the majority of the drink, you want something you'll enjoy sipping
  • Key Lime Juice - this stuff is the bomb and a lovely lime juice flavor (you can find it next to the lemon and lime juice in the grocery store)
  • Real limes - no reason to skimp!
  • Good salt - kosher works well, not table salt
Good luck and happy holidays!

I have a ton of limes at the moment so both mules and margs are on the menu this week!

I still like @RichMahogany 's marg recipe and it's what I usually go to:

2oz Repasado
1oz Lime
1oz Agave Simple Syrup (2:1 agave to water)
2-3 dash orange bitters
Saline solution or salt rim

I prefer the agave/orange bitters to give sweetness and citrus flavor over orange liqueur.

I've been using ~6 drops of 20% saline solution (20% salt to water, by weight) instead of a salt rim since it's easier, but I still like a salt rim for garnish and when I'm feeling fancy.
