Has the general public on the forum had a change of heart on the Tina rep molds of the capdash (scrown? not super sure what they're called) and RHC? Seeing more listings on class fields as of late and although I don't have a strong opinion there seemed to be a massive boycott when they first surfaced in class fields

Counterfeiting two molds that are currently in production is flat out fucking wrong.

Especially because one of them is based on a currently in production mold from a forum sponsor that’s beloved by the community in general (CPC).

The CapDash mold chips are fantastic! They are clearly the best of all the molds created through Tina. I have a set of Pioneer Club T25 and really enjoyed using them as did everyone else at the table.

I have a set of Kings Castle in the works and a big set of Grand Casinos going in the March group buy at pokerchipper.com. Are the CapDash Mold chips being used to deceive people? Of course not. Unless there's someone out there proposing their Tina made CapDash Pick Hobson chips are the real deal, but any collector can clearly tell the difference. Will people get suckered? Of course! There's one born every minute. eBay assholes will bend and twist anything to get you to pay more than what the item they're selling is worth. Let the buyer beware because even eBay doesn't care! As far as the creation of the CapDash mold through Tina being an "asshole move" let me say that TRK is no longer in business and the mold that CPC uses was not bought or licensed from TRK so it's fair game. Right now PCF members are putting together a Tangiers Mold chip set. Here are the samples.

Beautiful aren't they? Do you recognize the name from the movie "Casino"? Do you think they got Martin Scorcese's approval to make these chips? He created the ficticious Tangiers casino yet here they are ready for you to place your orders when they're ready. How about the replica Bellagio chips? I have a set and I love them!

It's pretty obvious that they're not the real deal but anyone can contact Tina and get them made. If you're going to bash one you gotta bash them all. We know that Tiger Palace chips were a trick against Paulson who thought they were supplying a real casino with chips. How many who shun Tina own some Tiger Palace chips? Is there really any difference? Nope. I just wanna say to anyone who puts down CapDash mold chips simply because they're not here on PCF that you're a narrow minded person that forms their opinions on heresay and rumors rather than truth.

let me say that TRK is no longer in business and the mold that CPC uses was not bought or licensed from TRK so it's fair game.

I think that statement is a bit misleading. Makes it sound like CPC stole them when in fact they got the molds directly from the owners of TRK.

Before we were even involved in the setting up of CPC, David Sarles and I acquired the old TR King molds from Dennis & Glenn O'Neill. We held back the one each serviceable molds for the small and large crowns and the rest of them were donated to Nevada Historical Society.

I have used every mold and without a doubt TO ME (there's the key statement) CapDash is the best. I like the way they feel over the others and the pattern is the best TO ME. It's fine to not agree with me but to simply say three words "yeah try again" after I wrote a page worth is pretty frivolous.

Cap Dash chips are a fantastic value. I know they aren't clay scrowns. My players (who care about chips) know they aren't clay scrowns. But I don't care and they don't care. They feel great. They have good weight. Best edges of any ceramic hybrid I've seen. Any fully customizable. Best bang for your buck IMO.

I can’t comment on longevity, but Tina chips are an insane bang for the buck based on initial feel and look. If I ran large tournaments and needed a mega set that is likely where I would look.

I think as long as China remains exempt from copyright infringement that's a moot point. As far as selling a knock off in the United States I'm sure if an item is owned and trademarked it could be prevented. Maybe it's not worth the cost of legal fees to pursue or maybe it's not impacting a business that takes half a year or more to fulfill an order.
