Too late to submit my last set of customs to HOF? (2 Viewers)

It’s easy..

Step 1) Approach Cardroom
Step 2) Ask if they want a chip upgrade for free.
Step3) Buy primary and secondary chips.
Step 4) Cardroom keeps primary chips for free.
Step 5) YOU keep secondary chips you want.
Step 6) Sell remainder on classifieds for $7-8 per chip and cover all expenses plus profit.

Now, this is my idea so I am guaranteed a spot in this GB/private venture.

I wonder how many primary chips a cardroom needs, this might be a good idea minus the gouging of the community to cover your costs. I'd rather get everyone involved and place a massive order with the cardroom (one set for us/one for them) and we will pay them a couple thousand for helping.

Your wrong, the gouging must take place. It is a rite of passage when you pull off an epic group buy (err Private Venture).....

I'd never up charge the community near that price. Cost of chips and whatever other incurred expenses are all that should be charged period.

Your wrong, you MUST gouge after a GB. It is just something you do....

Fool proof. If you like the same inlays as the cardroom's primary set...

Otherwise, VIP set is the way to go.

I think gouging is inevitable. It goes gand-in-hand with minty Paulsons.

Good thought but if you don’t someone will. While I agree with you law of supply and demand in free economy will win over Goodwill.

Why Chiproom changed his business model.

When I was a reg at the Texas Cardhouse and friendly with the owner, I think he said their original chip order was 7500 which included cash and tourney. I thought at the time that seemed an ncredibly small amount but the closed Throne cardroom was about that half that..I think. (4k).

It would need to be a true GB venture with all the pricing made public and monies collected etc.
Collect and hold in escrow. Approach cardroom.

So we order 10k for them and 200k for us lol? Paulson would be like wow that is a big secondary order.

...and thats (part of) why private group buys are private.

One person being responsible for 500k cash from the forum would be pretty terrifying.

But I would expect a Scooge McDuck scene, bathing in piles of minty Paulsons.

I think the thing to do is approach new GPI rep to verify min order requirements and start from there. Then we'd know the numbers and can approach poker room.

A lot of hustle when we can already get 44mm level 17 chips from CPC for $7.75.

I can't tell who is being sarcastic anymore lol.

We know with a lot of work and imagination it's possible to get an order fullfilled by GPI.
I'm merely pointing out we could probably strike a deal w CPC and get one hell of an order of 44mn chips. (They do actually price up to level 17. Current pricing for 44mm scroll start at $2.03 for solids and up to $7.53 for level 17.

Has their ever been a GB of CPC 44mm chips?

While I love cpc as a company Paulson's are actually cheaper as I don't not believe Paulson charges by the level, I could be wrong but I've heard these chips average 1 to 2 dollars from factory and spots don't matter as much.

Nobody from this buy has gouged any chips. Nobody has even sold any chips. I just think this is pretty hilarious, coming from the only person who pm’ed me asking if there were any small tourney sets available.

Yeah but much bigger effort required. Who knows what pricing discount CPC would offer for a smallish GB of 100k chips.

Actually, the franklin mint did this with tokens in the 1960’s:
  • sell the casino tokens
  • run certain denominations specific for the Franklin mint.
  • the casino would pay for the tokens by giving the Franklin mint their tokens at face value

Gordon Hall (Fallon nugget top gun chips, amargosa valley chips, etc.) did the same thing as well. So it has been done, but long ago.

Zero. I already tried. Not that large, but I asked about a community designed set and pricing and apparently the profit margins are very slim since a lot of the work is done by hand.

Just wait, the gougening will soon commence. Did I not see a sample set for $100? LOL

With the talent here, I think a helluva 44mm level 2 set (half pies and tro moons etc) could be designed $3.09. still way cheaper than the after market Paulson chips.

I bet, but it would still be more expensive and less desirable at resale than mint THC Paulsons. I am a Paulson snob so what do I know, currently I have no desire to spend "Paulson sized money" on anything other than Paulsons.

You saw a troll Craigslist post that was taken down. Honestly i have no idea what people are going to do with their chips, I'm assuming most will just keep them. I just think it's sad that some bad apples from the other buy have you conditioned that the whole community is a bunch of flippers. I really don't think that's the case.
