Total noob here looking for info (2 Viewers)

Possibly made for someone’s private game. The colours on the £100k match the Leicester City theme. What do the rest of the chips look like?
Agreed. My guess is these are one-off home game chips as suggested, or souvenir/promotional chips for the football club. Multiple chipguide and google searches came up empty.

There's not a £ sign on them. I doubt they ever had cash value.

They are all the same, all 100 of them.

Just to be clear, I know everything there is to know about the history of these chips.
They were made for Vichai S, the former owner of Leicester City, for his and his family’s use at the Playboy. The “Big Boss” is him. Unfortunately he passed away shortly after they were made, therefore were put out of circulation.

Might be worth something to a Foxes fan.

Hi All
Total noob here from the U.K.
I’ve signed up to ask for information about some chips I’ve got.

I have a limited edition collection of chips from a casino now closed in London, 100k chips.

Here’s a photo of front and back. Any info about them very much appreciated.

They are Matsui. All the chips from that Casino Company were supplied by them

Assuming you are talking about chipguide . Com, neither are the 500, 1000, 5000, 25000. Also these are a limited edition for a specific customer

Just to be clear, I know everything there is to know about the history of these chips.

is that the quickest transition from noob to expert in pcf history?

I'm confused. What questions do you need answered if you know everything about them?

I meant in the mold, but fair point.

Given your screen name, I assume you are related to Vichai S. (if so, sorry for your loss). Perhaps he removed the rack from the casino before he died.

I just don't think there's any way the casino pays you £10,000,000 for the rack, regardless of having a £ sign on the inlay. No where does it identify the casino, so I doubt these would be exchangeable anywhere for face value.

If your question is about value, I think this is your answer:
Might be worth something to a Foxes fan.

LOL! My question wasn’t around the origin of the chips, but the commercial potential (of which I am a total noob as I never realised forums such as this one even existed), but those questions are deemed unsuitable for this section, and I fully respect your rules.

I was gifted the chips by an executive of the company. I’m not related to Vichai, but I was told he was a really nice man RIP.
The Playboy has shut down during covid and the whole business in the U.K. was sold, hence there is not anywhere to honour £100 chips, never mind £100k :-)

My guess would be $1.50/chip for the lot. If you found the right customer (a Leicester City Football Club fan), you may be able to squeak out more per chip. I think top is about $3.25 per chip.

YMMV.
Thanks mate.
Never heard of YMMV, but I’ve googled it and I’ll use in future LOL

I don’t think they’re worth much. You might be able to get £1 per chip for a set of 500 plus chips depending on the breakdown. A lot less demand for plastic chips compared to clay but someone might want them.
They could be worth more to a Leicester fan because of who owned them. You would have to be able to prove that of course.
Or you could try selling them to Gary Lineker  :ROFLMAO:

Again, there are only 100 chips ever made, all for 100k each, so no variety there.

Thanks for the input everyone. I’ll keep them if the value is that low.

Nice community you have here BTW

@BonScot makes a good point. If you're looking to sell the lot, the breakdown (and whether it's playable) will affect value. 1 rack of each denom will not go for as much as a playable breakdown would.

Other than Leicester City fans, I don't think there will be a lot of interest, even at $1-$1.50 per. Look at all the plastic sets that go unsold in the classifieds.

Singles and sample sets would command more value, but you'd be hard pressed to sell them all.

I take your word for it. In my mind, given that are associated with a famous(ish) casino, that were made specifically for a high roller that died in tragic circumstances, that relate to one of the biggest football (please don’t say soccer) underdog story in the English league history, and given that only 100 have ever been produced, they might have been worth more. If that is not the case (and I appreciate that YMMV), I’ll keep them as I think they are a cool story to tell mates ;-)

Your target market is definitely the Leicester fan base. You’ll have to be able to provide provenance though.

I would target opposing teams...I'm sure they'd spend the money so they can chuck them at the Leichester players

I don't think these are B&G, Matsui, or Bud Jones chips. They look like chips made by a company in Russia. I'm trying to remember their name.
I don't know the manufacturer, but they sure look similar to some Russian casino chips, so you might be right. Two things to note are (1) the ring surrounding the decal has its notches facing the outer ring spots instead of empty spaces as is usual with BG, and (2) the spots have rounded corners when most manufacturers make them straight or angled.

For this comparison pic, the chip on the right courtesy of the chip guide. It looks like the Big Boss chip is oversized.

If oversized means 44mm, then yes. And they are Matsui’s.
BTW, all chips in the U.K. up to and over £500 are “bigger” in size.

Yes 44mm would certainly make sense looking at the pic I provided, the other chip is probably 39/40mm. But I don't think they are Matsui.

They are 100% Matsui. Besides the fact that I just know, all playboy’s (and related company, Caesars entertainment U.K./emea) chips were provided by Matsui.

Can we agree to disagree?

Of course, but you are wrong LOL. I’m an ex CEUK employee
you do realise you are talking to @mipevi the plastic chip master?

you came here originally asking info but now you speak with authority. Do you have any other evidence, like @mipevi supplied you to support your claims other than you "know"?

@Stas @Michael01. Do you recall the name of the russian manufacturer?

My request for info related to marketability and value.
I know nothing about chips in general and I’m no master, but I know pretty much everything there is to know about Caesars entertainment U.K. chips as I was the one ordering them from Matsui.
