Need to follow the steps in the FP.

FFS I work in IT and forcing 2FA for a forum login is kind of an extreme measure & a PITA, not online banking, a forum login.

Now every device I login with require multiple steps every 30 days just to read posts and look at chip pr0n.

I understand your frustration but look at it this way. If a member contacted you to sell you some of those Le Paulson Noir $5ks that you are looking for in your signature, sent you pics of them, had good feedback, and you paid without using PP G&S, then find out your money is gone to a scammer that stole someone's account, you're going to have a really shitty day.

We all got to do our part in helping the community be as safe as it can be.

fwiw you can still use incognito mode to look at chip pr0n ;)

Google Authenticator worked great, very smooth. Thanks for enabling this.

Oh I get why you're doing it, but the only time I ever got scammed for a chip transaction was from a site vendor.

People should be way more careful & do more research before throwing large amounts of money around trying to cash in & profit on those those "too good to be true" deals in a PM or classifieds. And you should always use G&S when you are not sure or it's a first time transaction.

The only thing I was able to see was a short message that I need to do something. I was unable to even view the forum frontpage. That however was before Tommy posted this thread, so I don't know whether that one was accessible for you before you activated 2FA. I had to open up a different browser where I was not logged into PCF to see anything but that message.

I have an authenticator for my business email, and I don't know if I could use the same RNG for this forum, so I opted for codes sent to my email (which also has a fairly strong password).

Of course, this means I have to log into my email before I do the same here.
Feels like putting on a condom before you have an erection, but these are hard times anyway, admittedly.:)

I’d recommend a pm to the seller asking some specific questions only a chipper can answer. Like what they use to oil chips and how they apply it.
If they say anything other than fresh virgin baby whale oil applied with the pelt of a recently clubbed baby seal, you know they are a fraud..
;)

I plan on putting similar “only a chipper would know” info in my sales threads.
I 've had some more wine tonight, since it's Xmas Eve, but if I now wrote "I have 10,000 NAGB chips for sale at $1.5 each", I 'm sure you would ask me if I were drunk, first.:p

You just have to set it up as a separate account in the authenticator. I have seven.

It was a pita , lol
Open pcf enter 2fa guess what enter it no problem. I want to voluntary turn 2fa off so I don’t have to fuss with it every time , Can’t do it made me resend the 2fa every time I want to login to read classified resend 2fa to email lolol. Finally gave up and turned on 2fa. Does give me option to use 30days. At end of 30days do we automatically get logged out??????

Definitely expect multiple password recovery from my username every month if so.

What member/ s got fleeced for nagb chips? You know that was the cause of this.

You dumba$$s that’s why you use PayPal goods !!!!Shoot I’ve meet more people using armslist and Facebook groups , mewe , Craigslist , I’ve meet peps at Truck stops at 9pm in Kalamazoo(fun fact !! actually a place look it up) who didn’t question my photos! You have a .556 awesome done I’ll take it. Haha

Funny how many people actually have chips.

Remember kardwell you could mail in a order !!! I know churches who have nice custom Paulsons!!!

Sorry long post about jacksht

It's a little difficult for me to understand how it works. But, I just tried it and it's simple. You only need to enter an additional 6 digits from another application. Great idea! Before, I lived very far from the USA and the issue of delivery and purchase was very important to me. Because, I was solely a chip buyer. I will say that there are a lot of great guys here who do not deserve your doubts at all. Fraudsters bring in too much toxicity and negativity. 2FA is good.

Recommended 2FA Apps (available for both Android and iPhone)

I recommend using an app with 2FA because waiting on an email can be trivial. From time to time, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, Gmail, etc., can get overzealous with their spam blocking, and the email either never arrives or goes to your spam folder. Sometimes people's email accounts are over their limit too. I've seen that error a few times with bounces.

The forum sends out thousands of transactional emails on a daily basis. (notifications, confirmations, etc.) All of our emails are DKIM signed and verified, so I cannot do much more if it doesn't arrive in your inbox.

You can try whitelisting notify@ with your email provider. Still, I highly recommend using an app as there is no waiting for a 2FA code to arrive when it is time to re-authenticate your identity and the device you are using.

Yeah, Tommy confirmed PCF is sending me emails but they aren’t getting to me. Oh well, another app to manage, thanks thieves!

Thanks Tommy for your effort to keep everyone safe here. As an "older" user (meaning much of this makes little sense to me) I've tried to log in several times over the past few days only to be met with that message about needing to set up 2-step verification. I'm probably overly concerned, but I thought it could be some sort of scam to get at my password, but after several days I figured I'd go ahead and do it. MY POINT...possibly you can blast out an email to all users (to their home email) alerting them to this change, the message they are likely to see and it's all part of a process to keep the site safe. Thanks again. UW85
