I plan to check out the WSOP events at TSC&R from 18th-22nd, give it take a day… Shoot me a message PCFers if you’re around.

755 entries so far in the senior WSOP tourney this morning… Chips are very light-feeling RHCs. 100s in good condition but not new. The 500s and 1Ks are dirty. 5Ks are clean and feel new. Very sharp.

They have some very very nice new solid olive? green IHCs for big chips.

Down to 87 out of the 960 entries but I’m shortstacked after a nasty beat

I ran less than one BB after the dinner break back up to 18BB, before finally busting in 50th. 960 entries, maybe 600 players.

Having only played two live tournaments since the pandemic started in March 2020, this was a great tuneup. Gonna take some more runs at it this week.

That’s a really good run! I hope to play some cash tomorrow morning/afternoon.

Ugh. Got down to 46 in today’s $1,100. 9 off the bubble. I have plenty of chips to fold into the money, and still have a decent stack… which is my plan.

After the break, first hand. I look down at AA. I can’t fold AA, right? I open, two callers, then a shove.

I still can’t fold AA pre, right? I do call.

He has AsQS. I’m 87% to win. One spade on the flop. Now 92% to win. Spade on the turn, still 80%. Third spade on the river. WTF

The WSOP circuit event has been reasonably well-run. 95% of the dealers were competent and things moved along briskly.

My main complaint has been how topheavy the payout structure is. When you play into the top 5% of a large field, you ought to profit by more than one buyin. It almost becomes pointless if you miss the final table.

Thankfully this is in the event center, because the TS poker room has become kind of gross. Dirty felts, dirty chips, and a lot of regulars who shall we say lack basic personal hygiene… I had to leave a juicy table because I was stuck between a guy who apparently had not showered in a week and one who was leaking sewer gas. I know this is typical of a lot of casinos, but it seems endemic here.

Gonna fire one more shot at today’s Monster Stack. Almost hoping it doesn’t go well because I’d have to stay through Friday to win…

I’m going again to the WSOP Circuit event at Turning Stone later this month. Just going to play flight C of the final big tourney ($1,700) on Saturday. If I don't make it to Day 2 on Sunday, I’ll play the $400 Seniors event.

Anyone going this year?

I can't stand TS’s grubby poker room, but the Circuit tourneys are held in the Event Center and were well-run last year, I thought.

I'm about 45min from TS - I try to play in a couple events but just busy with family nowadays! I'll play 1-2 later nightly tournaments, I still need to look at the schedule.

I prefer the poker room to the event center honestly! But either way, dealers are almost always excellent. GL!
