Tried to give some help to a guy who got his Razor hung up in Hells Gate but he was stuck pretty good.
Ended up giving them a ride back to the trail head where he was going to have to have his rig professionally towed out of its current situation.
Crazy shit!

Swimming last week on vacation in the Northern Bruce Peninsula. The water was not terribly cold. Usually it is freezing in the Georgian Bay side of the peninsula.

Funny story: I was treading water beside my wife and noticed what looked like a twig floating about 3 feet from her head. It was not a twig, it was a water snake heading right for her. She freaked out. I was thrilled. I'd never seen one out in the water like that. They are quite commonly found tucked up under docks or around the rocks in the area. This one was happily making its way to shore and we happened to be in its path. I followed it for a bit and watched it dive down to the bottom, about 15 feet or so. Quite cool--at least for a nerd like me.

It was just a Northern Water snake. Non-venomous. There are rattlesnakes up there, but I didn't get a chance to see one.

I haven't been to Maine, but very close. I rented a cottage on Grand Manan island in the Bay of Fundy, NB a couple of years ago and loved it.

There have been more white shark sightings in New England of late. Sadly, there was a fatal interaction with one in Maine back in July of this year. First fatal attack in Maine's history.

I've been to Grand Manan Island... We took a ferry over from the mainland and spent a few nights at a B&B. We went whale watching in the bay of Fundy one day and we got a tandem bike (I believe 'tandem' is from the Latin meaning 'man does all the pedaling') and rode all over the island. Just beautiful!

Hiking the Mist Trail, pretty strenuous hike but it's worth the incredible views, the pictures don't do it justice.

And then chilling at lake in a more remote part of the park, we had the place to ourselves, it was awesome.

On my wish list of places to visit Matt. Absolutely beautiful.

It's an incredible place, should be on everyone's bucket list!
@Irish truer words never spoken. Took the family there about 3 years ago. A truly beautiful place. I can’t believe that it was my first time there, as it’s not that far of a drive for me. Glad you had a great time!
