Hi
I am looking for your opinion. I recently commented in topic on Facebook's Casino Chip Collectors forum. In response one of members offered me cash set of old LGK Le Cercle "tailored to my needs" for 5 British Pounds per chip.
Am I ignorant or is it very excessive pricing. I do understand that this is seller's market and I am free to decline this generous offer. I would let it slide but that was not eBay but Facebook. For me that was like someone is looking for someone with more money than brains.
But I can be mistaken. Please comment what you think of that situation ..

Not an expert by a longshot, but as long as Le Cercles aren’t “grail” chips on par with AS/ES, this seems overpriced.

Looks like custom BCCs, if I'm not mistaken. £5/chip seems ridiculous, $1-2/chip sounds more reasonable (unless these chips are very very special in some way I don't know.

They are large Greek key mold and I believe they are legit and from the 60s? Wills and co something or other is the manufacturer? Can't recall that to be honest.

But I bet the seller is that english nutter that was on here late last year.

LGK is Burt Co. That’s about ten times the price most people would pay for essentially used ASM chips, but to each his own.

Same chips don't know if same seller but they were peddled here a couple of years ago. Probably the same seller as they are way overpriced $6 USD/chip.

Definitely SuperGems/LgGreekKey chips mfg by Burt Co & sold by various distributors, era late 60's/early 70's

Most obvious these would be Hispania chips

And yes, some English weirdo posted some posts/threads about a year ago

I think the pricing was because they are supposedly from a casino that was used in a classic Bond film, and potentially could have even been seen on screen?

Yeah, seems like a collectors item for James Bond fans..

Plaque guy? Seems like you know the guy...

I do not know the guy, but i was thinking about buying one of the plaques as a sample. They looked pretty cool, imo, but too expensive as I couldnt care less about James Bond.

He is probably a nice guy, but he was making some mistakes when comunicating with PCF in walls of text, and it didnt go so well.

I bought a couple of very reasonably priced plaques off of him way back when, mainly because I'm a huge Beatles fan and it was featured in A Hard Days Night. Plus they were from the correct era and may have been used in Dr. No. In fact, I believe it was the first time Bond said "Bond. James Bond" on screen.

Regardless, while this may be pricey, he's been getting pretty hefty fees for the plaques on a regular basis on ebay.

There are collectible piece/ephemera prices, single collector prices & playable set prices.

For a collectible piece/ephemera or singles collector pricing they are not off base.

Seems like one, big RED FLAG. I think he should have his nick changed.

I bought a set of Les Ambassadeurs plaques off him last year. It went without a hitch. Friendly guy. No more mentally unstable than I suspect the majority of PCF members already are.
You must have missed his incoherent rambling and delusional multiple threads and text walls.

The seller is mentally unstable. I urge caution getting involved with any transaction lacking financial protection for the buyer.

I dont agree with this though, I was pming him a little bit and he seemed very friendly in the PMs. Just that his pricing was higher than what I wanted to pay. Which actually makes sense to me because they are collectors items.

I think the PCF echo chamber is often pretty shitty towards "outsiders" of the community. Openly mocking others is a thing we should try to avoid. I'm guilty of it as well, I'll admit. This case just reminded me of people acting outside the norm being bullied pretty bad by a lot of good members of the community.

This is why I'm shitty to everyone...
