Was I out of line? Le Circle cash set (1 Viewer)

I dont agree with this though, I was pming him a little bit and he seemed very friendly in the PMs. Just that his pricing was higher than what I wanted to pay. Which actually makes sense to me because they are collectors items.

I think the PCF echo chamber is often pretty shitty towards "outsiders" of the community. Openly mocking others is a thing we should try to avoid. I'm guilty of it as well, I'll admit. This case just reminded me of people acting outside the norm being bullied pretty bad by a lot of good members of the community.
I just asked for opinion. Never encountered poker set 5 £ per chip. Not even Paulson La Noir.

Admittedly, the plaques are really cool, having been used in Dr. No with Sean Connery, I understand the pricing/appeal of them. We all know how much everybody likes Bond associated chips (CDI, Casino Royale, etc). But unless you're a rich bond superfan and can afford a large playable set (that would have to include the plaques as hi denoms in my mind) this set of chips is drastically overpriced.

LGK is Burt Co. That’s about ten times the price most people would pay for essentially used ASM chips, but to each his own.

In fairness to the seller, finding a playable (just?) set of old UK casino chips is next to impossible. Plus the LGK mold is badass. But with this breakdown and at £5 each, this will only appeal to a die hard UK chipper in my opinion. £2.50-£3 ea and it would have my interest. Plus seller won’t budge. I’ve tried. He’s had them for a year or so..

We chatted quite a bit via PM. He's a good guy. Just is prone to providing way more commentary and writing down streams of thoughts than most people. I have a friend that insists on typing in all caps. Annoying? Sure. But he's a great guy.

Prices are high. But A) they're more collectibles than playable and B) He's getting pretty serious prices for them on eBay as it is. If he isn't in a rush, then he can be patient for that one person who really wants to invest in them as collectibles.
