I've held off on posting these, but what the heck. I have TWO talented young ladies in my family in the music business. Both are based in Nashville, one singing country music, and the other performing Christian music.
First up is Jenna Paulette, on my wife's side of the family. I've known Jenna since she was about 7. Actually first met her just a week after my wife and I were married. Funny story, my wife and I had planned on getting married in the Fall, but her family had an annual summer reunion every year, and her Mom had a fit when she said she was bringing me to the reunion. Her Mom said "
you will not bring him and stay in the same room when you are not married!" LOL. Southern Baptist through and through. Didn't matter that we were in our mid 30s and were bringing ALL FIVE of our kids with us!!! So we scheduled a quick wedding at our church and got married with only our kids and two friends of my wife in attendance.
Anyway, Jenna and my daughter Casey both loved to sing and perform, and every reunion they would organize and put on a show for the whole family. Who knew one day Jenna would grow up and become a recording artist!
This is one of my favorites from a couple of years ago:
This is a fun one she released last year:

Now to my side of the family. My cousin Michael's family moved to California when we were just kids. He and I were about a year apart. We didn't really stay in touch much until my oldest son decided to go to college in CA himself. He was in school just a couple hours away from Michael, so I hooked them up so he would have some family close by. I had heard that Michael's daughter Bria Jean was a musician, but unfortunately never had the chance to meet her. Her and her husband had released a folk style album at the time my mom and sister went out there for a family visit, so I followed her on Facebook, bought the CD and didn't think much else about it.
Then about a year ago, I started seeing a bunch of new posts on my FB feed from Bria Jean. She and her family (they have two little girls) had moved to Nashville and they were working on a new project. She had a Kickstarter to help with funding, so I joined in, and went to YouTube looking for her latest music.
This was one of the first songs I listened to that really grabbed me. A beautiful and heartfelt testimony of faith. I hope you all like it as much as I do.
This is a nice cover of a song you may have heard on Christian radio.
And finally, this is one of two songs that have been released from the new project. I believe the full album/DVD will be released later this month.
Hope you liked these. And please remember, these young ladies can use all the support they can get. Becoming a real recording artist where your music will actually pay your bills is very, very hard. Jenna is just now finally getting some breakout attention even though she has been singing and recording for 6-7 years. And Bria Jean is hoping her latest project might put her on the map in Christian music. If you like what these ladies are doing, please seek out their YouTube and Facebook pages to follow and support them. And feel free to reach out to me if you want to know anything else about them.
Thanks for listening!
