I've never been much of a Petty fan, but for the last several years, when it comes to actual harder, non-folk-derived rock music, Bob Seger is my runaway number one. When any of his songs plays, the volume gets cranked up.
Most of our dinner listening these days is via Pandora, with channels identified by people we really like. Recently, it's usually the Bonny Raitt channel, with music from the likes of Seger, Mark Knopfler, Van Morrison, Jackson Browne, Eagles, John Prine, CSN, and relative newcomers like Chris Stapleton.
