What do you do?? (1 Viewer)

35 years as an art director and graphic designer, I recently went out on my own doing 3D architectural modeling and rendering.
I still do graphics, and I wish I had the time to devote to chip design...maybe someday!

Funny,
I had to revisit this thread, as I seem to change jobs more often than I change my shoes.

I'm back in the PeopleSoft world, as I tried something new and it didn't work out. I am now self-employed however, and am the happiest I've been in a long time. I'm a subcontractor to the company I left in 2019. They asked me to come back, but I didn't want to work for a big company. Riding on my wife's incredible teacher benefits (not being sarcastic at all, they are grandfathered into some of the best medical benefits out there), it was a no-brainer to go independent. I threw out a "what I thought was stupid" number, and they didn't blink (D'oh, maybe they would have gone higher). Either way, I'm happy again.

Also not sarcastic: Maryland students perform well above the national average on ACT tests and SATs.

Pay teachers what they are worth, kids get a worthwhile education.

Teachers are getting treated pretty poorly in Howard County right now. This year was rough. Budget Cuts, BOE vs the Union, and leadership being two-faced. Technically, my wife is a para-educator, making not much more than minimum wage. she literally works for benefits. She's in the process of getting her masters and becoming a Special Education teacher (her passion). 90% of (single) Howard county teachers cannot afford to live in Howard County. Pending which report you read, we are between the 2nd and 7th wealthiest county in the US.

I know a Michigan student who just scored a 1460 on the SAT
