Anyone else out there still PC Gaming? I picked up a bunch of games on Steam Sales and now have a backlog of stuff to play. Generally try to wait for a game to have been out for awhile and be battle tested, patched and have pretty good reviews before I'll jump into the fray (plus wind up paying less than $10 to get legendary/complete editions)

Total War Rome II - Emperors Edition
I had originally gotten into the Total War series back when they first released Medieval TW. Then played Rome, then played Medieval II (I got a LOT of life out of that one thanks to the modding community, including the Stainless Steel and Third Age Lord of the Rings conversion mods)
But, I became disenfranchised with the series due to the continued weak AI and I swore I wouldn't get another game after MTWII. Then I wound up getting Empire anyway and it was a horrible mess and I swore off the series, skipping everything since (including Rome II initially, and thankfully since there were tons of issues at launch and after)
A year had passed and I saw I could snag it for 15 bucks and read reviews and they seemed to say the game had significantly improved so I gave it a go. While there are still things that irk me about the series, I am enjoying Rome II and found it plenty stable without lag, even with maxed graphics and roughly 10,000 troops on screen at once.
I have since downloaded some mods (to enhance the music during battles, etc) and I'm playing a campaign on the hardest difficulty (Legendary, you can't save or go back and reload, it auto-saves each turn and that's it, live with your mistakes) as Rome.
I was just about to open up a can of whoop ass on the Iceni, who have pushed the Averni out of what is modern day France, when the Selucids (and their huge contingent of Satrapy's) declared war on me. It's too bad because I could've steam-rolled the Iceni who overextended and exhausted themselves against the Averni, but I prefer not to fight on the two fronts if I don't have to.
Carthage is long since gone, having tangled with myself and my Syracuse allies. Syracuse had been doing well, keeping the south out of my area of concern. But then they ran afoul of the Persians (a satrapy of the Selucids) and have been getting pushed back significantly. And now I'm being drawn into the fray. Dispatching two full legions plus two full fleets (essentially another two legions worth of troops) to begin the long campaign to push them back.
This is resulting in what is essentially a world war because there are multiple alliances fighting the Selucids and their Satrapy's and I expect the arrival of Roman Cohorts will shift this conflict significantly. I have kept a decent number of legions to secure my home territories, and might still consider a conflict against the Iceni since they're relatively weak and it's probably best to strike while the iron is hot rather than risk allowing them to solidify their holdings. Then again, the Lustani, occupying the Iberian peninsula have just recently declared war on the Iceni and that should keep them both occupied while I deal with the larger threat.

Skyrim: Needed to mod it so it didn't look so crappy. But eventually became bored because there's TOO much to do in this game
Fallout 3: Was able to mod this to make it comparable graphics-wise with todays games, again too big a game, eventually got bored and uninstalled
Fallout New Vegas: Completed this awhile back before I realized there were mods to make it pretty like today's games.
