Wow, was watching the war in the pacific In color last night. They had great shots of Guam. It was like 1500 miles to anywhere else according to the makeshift sign, maybe 1511 to midway and some other island in the other direction

There are some small Micronesian islands around us that are fairly close but they are even more middle of nowhere less civilization
Closest bigger land mass with civilization is probably Japan and Philippines both about a 4 hour flight from here. About 8 hours to Hawaii
