Sitting Out
I am very new, please excuse my ignorance, and if this is answered I haven’t been able to find it, I would appreciate if someone could point the way.
I am early in my chipping journey, but I have received the wisdom of creating sets with denominations that increase by 4x or 5x per jump. It makes perfect sense to me BUT
I’ve seen sets with lots of steps in the lower denominations, up to $100, but then they seem to become fairly consistent, and most tournament sets seem to be this way as well…
*many increments*
$25 x 4 = $100 - ok
$100 x 5 = $500 - ok
$500 x *2* = $1k - ???
$1k x 5 = $5k - ok again
$5k x 5 = $25k - ok we’re back on the pattern.
Is there some obvious reason for that and I’m just a dummy? Or is it just a tier of play that’s used a lot, like $5’s in cash sets?
Am I seeing a pattern or lack of pattern that isn’t there?
