H/T - @k9dr

Pick the winners of the week 16 NFL games - no point spread. Whoever picks the most winners will win the dealer button of his or her choice from those pictured. Tiebreaker will be whoever is closest to the total points scored in the Monday night game. And because it's Christmas, I will choose another player to receive a random button from my collection.

Enter your picks in this thread using the spoiler tags if you want your picks to remain secret until kickoff.

Entry/edit deadline is before kickoff of the Thursday night game 8:25 PM EST.

Contest is open to all PCF members with a minimum of 25 posts.

10 entries - Just realized that I never made my picks. Oops.

2/10 picked SD in the TNF game.

8/10 picked OAK.

I'll get the spreadsheet up in a bit. Working a double shift for the holiday, so once things settle down, I'll be on PCF.

Link to picks

Highlights:
  • Forest can really hose a spreadsheet, so his picks won't be reflected in this breakdown in the cases where he picked a team to win that isn't playing in the game.
  • Going with the flow - Godzilla only has one underdog (Jacksonville), the fewer that anyone else.
  • Unanimous picks - everyone picked Pittsburgh to beat Baltimore, KC over Cleveland, and Seattle to trounce the Rams.
  • Short Spread - k9dr picks the highest scoring game, at 57 points, two players (kirchausen and stocky) pick a lower scoring game of 41 total points.
  • Long Shots - Kirchausen is the only player pulling for the Jets to upset the Patriots, and Stocky is the only punter for on the Falcons over the Panthers. See what I did there - I used "punter" because I understand British/Aussie English that way.

"punter"... Nice one.
@Forest@Farmington

Thats for making your picks in some mystery f*cked up order. You picked Carolinia to win the Patriots/Jets game. Cam Newton is good, but he's not that good.

He also used city names for most teams, except "JETS"... And has some mystery city called "But" in there... Must have started early on the egg nog...

  • Unanimous picks - everyone picked Pittsburgh to beat Baltimore, KC over Cleveland, and Seattle to trounce the Rams.

Either a lot of faith in the way they are playing or 10 people who have never paid attention to how the Rams kick the shit out of, or at least make a game of it against, Seattle no matter how good the Hawks have been... But yeah, they are winning this week with out a doubt. ;) :D

That's ok. I know they do football a bit differently down under. You have a valid excuse.
Yes when we play football the ball actually touches the foot.

You guys should change the games name to "hand throw run ball"

The sport I follow almost exclusively is English football. Having watched both, I see many parallels. Number of players, names of positions, things like that. But goodness, they are such different games now that it seems really stupid that they share a name. I would agree that American football should have a different name, but there's not a chance in hell that the dominant sport in the country, BY FAR, is changing nomenclature for the tiny minority who lean away from American jingoism...

I will double check these in the morning, but it looks like, going into SNF, we have a two way tie with ten correct picks each. Kirchausen and Forest. They picked opposing teams for both remaining games.

Chiptalker has eight wins, and a small chance of catching up, I think.

But everybody else is sakujo.
