Windwalker’s Chipping Journey in Pr0n0grAph1C Detail (19 Viewers)

Yep, it’s in customs. I need to get them some paperwork. Seller declared the entire sales value despite me telling him not to, and I’ve had an unlucky draw with a customs inspector who wonders if the chips are live and I’m possibly money-laundering. :ROFLMAO:

I have to fill out a couple of affidavits and get them some additional info. And probably pay duty. Bleh.

Oh, that's annoying. Hahaha, live chips... What's up with people who can't understand why a set of NCV poker chips is worth several thousand dollars.... Casuals! :ROFLMAO:

Too bad on the import duty. Didn't know that was a thing in the US? Definitely know the feeling though..

Is it me or a lot of the TRK chips from Reno based casinos? Is there some connection there?

I’m happy to leave the value off of this beauty if you want it sent across for your collection...

If insured, then the value would likely have to be declared (that’s how it works in Canada anyway). Also, I believe it’s illegal to declare a lesser value fwiw. I always declare actual value on packages because if I ever need to make a claim I’d rather be reimbursed for the actual value.

Judging from what I’ve seen in this thread, I believe you’ll be able to afford some customs duty;). Looking forward to the pics.

That article seems to be only talking about own stuff when travelling, however this one does say a bit more about mail:
https://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/internet-purchases

The magic numbers seem to be $800 and $2000, if I understood it correctly.
Same as the “mail to yourself” section in the travel. There are duty thresholds, and then they have a calculator after that. I haven’t done a TON of international purchases, get clearing customs seems to hit or miss.

For example, my table topper from @T_Chan got stuck for a few days because they needed a rarely asked for form that had to identify the biological names of the source woods in the topper.

Thankfully, Tony came through immediately.

I love these colors and edge-spots. I’m always surprised they don’t get more love around here. The simplicity and hot colors really do it for me. Sometimes less is more.

I’m glad we are back to pictures in this thread!
I used to have some of the RHC version... same sweet color combo from the side, but when looking at the inlay, I would throw up a little in my mouth.

Wow, interesting chip. Somebody shot it with a BB gun, unfortunately. I wasn't a fan of the brown chips until I had the rack of 25s. I'm not sure those are technically brown but they were certainly awesome :)
