Windwalker’s Chipping Journey in Pr0n0grAph1C Detail (15 Viewers)

I noticed this on the package.

That little sticker says the truck number and where it goes on the truck. RDL refers to Rear Door Left.... typically where a bulk stop of a lot of packages to one delivery spot goes... how many boxes did you really get  :ROFLMAO::bigbucks: I can’t wait to see these never before seen chips. Always love the pr0n:tup:

I just spent $250,000 on approx. 95,000 mint chips, and once I figure out how to get the logistics done of getting them to me, I’m super excited to do some unveiling of some absolutely-never-seen-or-heard-of-before chips.
Super excited to see what you have in store, and hope you keep posting!! I do agree with what you said though a lot of members here seem to be only in it for the money unfortunately, but dont let those guys stop you :)

Chips are tough. I’m continually impressed with the artistry of color combinations and inlays. I’d love to hear about the design concepts and process on some of the old classics. Even the coke giraffes- what were the design principles that resulted in that inlay and those colors. So interesting.

Hmm you dont see the irony in your statement? :)

May need to get building engineers involved to help handle the additional weight!

Congrats on the acquisition! Looking forward to the pr0n!

Nice, Krish!

You see, this is why I really am no longer in the chip hunting game. There are much smarter and more resourceful people out there than me, and it's really a younger man's game. Intrigued to what has been unearthed, though.

Absolutely ridiculous haul brother. Congrats on these epic pick ups, honestly mind blowing. Sad to hear about the bad turn the forum has taken. I’ve been seeing too many posts and threads about it lately. Hopefully things get back on track.

I dont know whats going in pm's etc. But i kind of have to say this.
Maybe a little self awareness /reflection and sensitivity would go a long way. You came into this forum by saying you play 4k/8k no limit if i remember correctly. And you use lots of oppurtunities to show/tell people that you have lots and lots of money {pictures of bundles of 100s laying around on pokertable or posting a sheet where everyone can see you spent more money that probably most of the people here will ever own/earn in a lifetime). Latest example is letting all know that you spent 250k on one chipsale. And it kind of feels that if somebody doesnt agree with it, you let even the mods cleanup your thread. And it kind of feels like the angry rich kid who wants everyone to know what cool toys he has but he decides who can play with them (obviously your right). Just stating a little more self awareness/refelection and sensitivity would might be helping. And still i dont know what is going on behind the curtains, that is why i am posting this in public. All the best

I am not a huge whiskey drinker but thought I would get a bottle on WW’s recommendation for my next poker game ........ hello!! Maybe not this brand.... back to maker’s 46 for the group. If it was only $12k I would have bought it.

I especially love that after spending $14k for a bottle whiskey, they want to charge you $5 to add a gift message. :ROFLMAO:

The fact that Windwalker is vastly wealthier than I am doesn't bother me in the least.

I don't think anyone posts pictures of their stuff to the forum in order to show off or brag - at least, I hope they don't. What a shallow personality that would reflect. Rather, I assume they do it out of camaraderie, the desire we all have to share a common appreciation for our obscure hobby. That desire runs both ways at once: I want my fellows to appreciate me, and I want to show my appreciation for my fellows. It's not tit-for-tat; there's joy to be had simply by communing with the community.

I'm glad whenever WW shows us his pictures, and even more glad whenever he talks about the joy his new-found hobby is bringing him. I hope he keeps sharing. And I feel that way about everyone, no matter how many or few chips they have.

As I mentioned before, I was talking more about the general vitriol across all of PCF, nothing generally directed at me. I can handle that. It’s just not as much fun as it was in the beginning.

Nothing I said was angry, or disrespectful. I just said that I wouldn’t be doing any more large sales publicly, I’ve done 30 so far.

The entire purpose of the Pr0n threads are to “show off your toys”, as you put it, which is what I’ve been doing in posting things that I buy.

I don’t recall anyone posting anything about “disagreeing” with me talking about the recent find, all I said in response to question if any of it will be for sale is that I was abstaining from large PCF sales.

I am definitely not “angry” in the least. I was just lamenting about the state of how the posts on PCF, even six months ago, were more fun and about learning, but I still continue to post Pr0n, albeit not as frequently.

A couple of clarifications.

A) I don’t play $4k / $8k NLH, have never said that anywhere here.

b) I don’t think I’ve personally ever posted pictures of bundles of money laying around, please correct me if I’m wrong. @WhiteMamba1646 may have done that at a game in my home as a joke, but definitely not I.

C) Posting an inventory of grail chips I had acquired at the rates I had acquired them on PCF, I think, was helpful for the debate in that specific thread, about prices rising on PCF. It was germane to that thread.

d) Mods don’t clean up threads based on requests from the thread initiators. They clean up threads based on how much they’ve derailed. Take that up with them, not me.

I’m not even sure what the point of your post is, now that I think of it. Are you taking umbrage to me saying I won’t have any more large public sales? Why do you care if I do or don’t?

Either way, sorry you feel that way, my apologies for offending your sensibilities with my seeming lack of sensitivity. This is the last I’ll say on this, as fuel needs to come from both sides.

I’m not targeting @Windwalker specifically here, but this this is a huge LOL - the majority of pron posted on this site is done exactly to show off and brag.

I agree. But it’s because this is such a niche hobby there’s no where else to show them off and be appreciated. We know the majority of our players in our games couldnt care less. Some of us *ahem* even get complaints that our chips aren’t “official casino weight” and when we tell them that our chips are literally from casinos they reply “John’s chips down the street are heavier”

I post my chips to show off because I have no one else that will appreciate them other than you guys

Curiosity, what’s the long term plan?

So like it’s no secret that you’re big with the comic books. Aside from those left at work, I don’t think you’ve shared how those are stored, but it goes without saying that you are a professional or serial collector of those.

Do you consider yourself now a professional or serial collector of poker chips? Or is it just the simple, I enjoy it and want the best on hand, being able to choose whichever set I want to curate a game night with. Kind of a dumb black and white question, but which do you lean towards now, do you see that changing as you continue?
Very curious also. Probably approaching 200,000+ chips. Wondering how many will be tucked away in storage and never played.

No specific plans. I just like collecting chips, just like I like collecting comics. I enjoy seeing them, playing with them, arranging them, and learning about them.

I think there are a ton of people of PCF who have accumulated similar numbers; @Godzilla28, @pltrgyst, a lot of the veterans. I know singles collectors who have hundreds of thousands of chips, and don’t necessarily get them all into play.

The comics collection market is infinitely more mature in terms of valuation, credentials and certifications. We are still a hobby morphing into a collectibles business.

As people from PCF who have come to my home will attest, I’m not shy at all about felting chips, and I try to rotate among all of them.

For now, I’ll keep acquiring, playing, taking pictures, “chipping”, if you will, until my desire to do so runs out. If that does, PCF will be the first to know.

Sounds like a plan to me. It's like my plan, except with WAY less chips and WAY less people interested in what I do or dont do. :ROFLMAO:.

Just keep doing you and keep Pr0n following, and dibs on any sample sets you can break off from any of your scores.

You're quite right, of course, but perhaps I chose my words with insufficient clarity and specificity. Contrast "look at my chips, aren't they nice" with "look at how much wealthier I am than you".

You’re alright in my book WW, and as long as you aren’t hunting anything I’m hunting, you’ll stay that way ;)

Sorry you’ve witnessed and maybe felt some of the negativity here lately. Hope you don’t take to just PM’s / dealing with those you call friends. It takes “leaders” to keep the community going (on the forum that is sort of defined by who has a lot of chips and/or knows a lot about chips, and you rank highly in both).

My non chipping friends and poker players are very sick of me talking about chips, my wife has zero appreciation for my chip hobby and for all of my hard work (except for the occasional- that one is pretty...). So, yeah, I post pr0n to show off my chips and relabel projects to those who understand the hard work that went in to accumulating them and making them. Who else am I gonna show them to?
