Windwalker’s Chipping Journey in Pr0n0grAph1C Detail (21 Viewers)

Finally, cataloging. Just for my own benefit, I’ve been working with a software development team to create a cloud-based inventory / cataloging system for my chips, and once it’s working well, I plan to release it for free to anyone who’d like to use it. It allows you to pick everything from mold to spot pattern, to colors, and if the chip already exists in the database, it will auto-catalog it for you. It handles everything from cataloging which core set a rack might belong to, to which mixed sets it could potentially work with. There’s even a “suggest a chip to fit this progression” tool that we’re working on.
So we're all here to witness the birth of AutoChipper, the software-based replacement for all PCFers.
In version 2 of the software (which is about 5 months out), a 3D rendering engine will allow you to see your chips in real time, as long as the inlay is already in the database.
And of course, AutoChipper will only collect virtual chipsets, thus rendering physical chips obsolete.

With the eventual tie-in to Pokerstars, Poker AutoChip Forum (PACF) will come to dominance.

I suspect we'll soon find that "Krish's" chip collection is but a red herring, and his real name is HAL.

(Damn, this Armagnac is good...)

I’ve been wondering how long it would be before someone launched a digital token form of chips that we can all start trading and storing in our coin base wallets.

I'll shoot myself if people start collecting nft poker chips.

I never thought I'd be an old man yelling at clouds at 33, but the world is such an annoying place in 2021 lol.
You’re only 33?!! You complain like you’re 73!   :ROFLMAO:

(j/k. But I was really surprised. )

Awesome work Krish @Windwalker I have 8 sets and I’m aware I have a problem and addiction. The thrill of checking here frequently on a daily basis in hopes of a new set is driving me insane. Can’t wait to see what else you can come up with!

It’s been incredible to follow your journey and see the many chips you’ve been able to find, somehow. I’m happy that you have the resources you do to chase after what you want, I’ve also had benefit from following and seeing the progression. My resources are very limited and just when I think I’m done two or three more ideas or sets come into view and it continues. When I mean done I don’t mean actually finished, I mean stop spending for a while and re focus.

Haha ya like that’s gonna happen.

Great collection, keep up. I look forward to the next phase.

Oh shit. He got out of his room again....

GUYS, START POINTING AT CLOUDS TO DISTRACT HIM!!

Earlier tonight, @JeepologyOffroad commented on the size of this thread and that he couldn’t find some of the pictures he was looking for. Which made me look back, and I started choosing the pictures (not sets or chips) that I liked the most. I ended up with 27 pics, which I’m reattaching to this and the next message, just as a summary of the last 8 months of this thread.

Nice! thanks for sharing these pictures again Krish! Obviously there are a ton of great sets felted on your table but ignoring the obvious grails for a second, my first reaction is “wow the LCOs are absolutely gorgeous.” I love the hundos and I regret selling mine. And I think your mixed cali hotstamp set is very, very, very classy. It’s so good that it makes me realize that putting a great all-Cali casino hotstamp set together could me more rewarding than scoring a grail inlaid set (admittedly not everyone will agree with this). Awesome stuff

Thanks, Alex! Blame John for the hotstamp focus. :)

Yeah I blame him for all my chipping problems too @JeepologyOffroad   I hope to join the hotstamp club very soon - nearly done with my set, one last denom to find - the $20 (well maybe 2, I need a good $10 to make up for my lack of $5). It’s been hard work to get there...

Maybe I should pay more attention, I had no idea you had so many TRKs! I like it much better when people are waxing poetic about the beauty of leaded THC...

I have a decent bunch of TRKs, including a VERY large set of chips sitting in probate court-related escrow from an estate sale. Covid severely delayed the release of those, but the courts are finally moving again, so fingers crossed. Until then this my largest TRK set in hand:

The million-dollar question, Krish: taking all facets of both chips into account, do you rather Paulsons or TRKs?

I got into comic books growing up in India, where the predominant title was Archie. That’s kinda like asking Archie if he prefers Betty or Veronica. It’s just wouldn’t be the same without either of them. And they serve different purposes, satiate different spaces, if that makes sense.

That said, I’ve never actually gotten TRKs into play in a game before. We have decided on TRKs for our upcoming PCF home game on May 5th, so I’ll report back then!

Makes complete sense, yeah. Like you said, once you get them into play, you'll have a better idea of your opinion on them — interested to hear your thoughts.

Your formative years comic book hero was Archie?

I had a ton of batman and Superman when I was a kid. There was a second hand store that let you trade two comics for one. We were buying 70’s era comics and trading for 50’s and 60’s, just kids reading up on our heroes. My younger brother (8 years) preferred Ritchie rich. So while I was gone to college my mom traded all my 50’s and 60’s batman and Superman comics for a Ritchie rich collection for my brother. I still have them worthless fuckers somewhere.
