Windwalker’s Chipping Journey in Pr0n0grAph1C Detail (15 Viewers)

Bought these chips, and have ZERO clue what to do with them. They’re really fun inlays, though.

Bathroom vouchers, one per guest each game. Additional vouchers can be purchased for one round of blinds / antes to the next hand you sit out to use the facilities!
Hahahahaha I could almost believe that :-)

Produced by Burt Co. for Paulson using their LCV mold, so no lead content. But very nice chips nonetheless. Probably slightly oversize (40mm).

Having all 4,000 made would be a major coup, and a great no-denom limit set.

Two questions for @Windwalker:

1. Do you have any forever sets? i.e. sets you love so much that you would never sell for any price?
2. What do you think of the Sunset Beach chips, are you a fan, I dont remember if you have a set of those lol

The one thing I’ve learned in my short time chipping is that you never say never, or forever.

First — I think @Lemonzest did a great job getting the chips designed and made. The accomplishment is Herculean in itself. The thing about chip design is that it’s a relatively subjective construct, and I’ve personally started aligning myself to a few specific schools of thought, which the set doesn’t necessarily match with, but that’s a personal choice. For example,

- I like my fracs as solids; the SB frac is an 8v.
- I like increasing complexities of spot progressions in denoms, or at least, some level of hierarchy; the SB cash set jumps all over the place: from an 8v frac to a bearclaw $1; from a 3d14 $5 to a 4v418 $20, and then from a 3ta14 hundo to an 8d18 $500. To me, the $5 and the hundo are the best chips in the lineup, but they feel like prim and proper yuppies who found themselves in the middle of a circus rave.

I think a lot of the individual chips are beautiful — I personally use the Mexican Rose 8d18 $500 as my relabeled Jack $100,000 chip. As an overall group, it’s not my favorite, but as I said — it’s all about personal taste.

Lesson #3749384 in chipping: Open your damn unopened boxes.

So, yesterday, I completed a “massive ESPT sale” only to discover this morning that I have, among a bunch of unopened boxes, at least another 1300 mint / unfelted ESPT chips remaining. For those who PM’ed me bummed that you missed out on last night’s NAGB on the ESPTs ( :-) ) I’ll be doing another massive ESPT sale in the next few days, and I’ll honor dibs in the order they came in from the previous sale.

When I have this issue, it's a box of ceramics I've never seen before. When you have the issue, it's 1300 ESPTs....

Goddamnit.

I'll bid $1.50 per chip for the lot!

Part of the process. If I used ultrasonic alone those 1s would’ve still looked like garbage. Blood, sweat, and whiskey is unavoidable for cleaning chips that dirty if you want them to look decent.
Glad to hear you say that. I have some old gross chips and the ultrasonic makes a difference, but I’m not getting the shiny results others are.

Ultrasonic alone works great a lot of the time. But it rarely gets it all. If they are super dirty it almost does nothing it seems like sometimes haha. Also depends on the particular ultrasonic that you have as well. I’ve owned a couple that were trash.
