Reminds me of my yard this time of year…. Tis the season I guess and ya, that is a ten foot pole and nice TV win. I didn’t watch much. A few min while working. Couple mishaps (that 33 check on turn killed me live after both players checked 2x) but I really loved those monster 129 to 1 miracle flops esp when villain catches their money card on the turn! Easy game, back on tonight?

Just saw where George in an $800 straddled pot raises to 5k from OOP in the SB with 73 off and Reza limp-calls with A5 off.

Still have a bit left to watch

The two bald guys that are new to the stream are sooooo exploitable. Bet into these guys for value relentlessly with a made hand and they'll pay out like an ATM. They'll suck out from time to time but in the long run playing basic ABC poker against these guys will win a lot of money.

Reza plays really loose but he's 10x craftier and is 100x better at live reads than either of those two guys.

I'm having one of those stream of consciousness moments, sorry for the double post.

Take a look at how Mariano (poker Vlogger) played in his second Hustler stream a couple of weeks ago. That's exactly how you DON'T play against loose aggressive players like Reza, George, and Shane. He tried to get too fancy and bluff raise marginal hands and called down a 6K river bet from Reza really, really light with only an ace high.

Tighten up against these guys and play the premiums. It's OK to play suited connectors in position but need to make sure you leave yourself fold equity when playing those hands too. I would take a lot of limp/call lines in position with hands that I'd ordinarily raise against tighter players like with low pocket pairs, suited aces, and connected cards like 5/6, 6/7, 7/8, Etc through J10 suited. Anything else above that suited is a raise against these guys.

I wanted to take a second and thank everyone for their PMs / texts and comments. Honestly, I’ve been doing this primarily as a learning exercise, and for the challenge. Last stream, @Senzrock and I worked on a strategy that required to fight my natural gambler’s way of playing, which works in loose, crazy home games in LA.

We decided to buy in small, because being deep against Garrett, Gal and Andy was getting me in trouble earlier. We thought it would force me to play more premium hands. It did.

A lot of the unrealized value I’m leaving on the table is because I don’t trust my reads fully yet. Like for example, checking pocket 3s when both the flop and the turn have been checked down.

I also want to say — watching the stream, a lot of the mistakes I make seem so obvious, but in that high pressure situation, under the 30 second clock, it’s a lot of stuff to process in real time.

Money is relative to everyone, and I’m ok with the losses I’ve taken to learn what I’m learning, but hopefully, I get better. Thanks for joining me on that journey :)

And honestly, your profit vs. loss line isn't completely reflective on how you've played, it only tells part of the story. Variance in these games can get pretty out of hand with how loose some of the players in this game play. As long as you keep getting it in good and keep improving on your table reads against the regulars, in the long run, you'll see that you'll end up more in the black than the red.

The only "bad" play I've seen, to be completely honest, was the shove with AK against Julie when she turned the straight. But you came back this past week and made a very good fold against her rivered full house. You learned and saw that she's just not shoving there with a worse hand.

WOW just watched the Friday game and one of them punted off like 120k in 4 hours playing like I have no words.
His exit of raise re-re-shove with Q-10 out of position then all in like I can’t even.
Couple of ATMs there
And he borrows money from the guy then shoved into him like unreal the top of the 4th hour there
What’s going on in Ohio i wana know to make that kinda money.

@Windwalker still making my way through, but recall a hand where you called pre with AQ and wound up folding post-flop and started telling everyone what you folded

Don't tell those fuckers shit, don't show your hand unless they pay to see it. Especially with guys like Garret at the table, give them zero free info to use in the immediate future against you.

They'll see it on the stream later, but during the battle keep them in the dark as much as you can

Man... on the first couple streams, Krish was getting crap cards, getting rivered, bad beats, etc. The winds were just blowing against him. This last stream it seemed like good cards and great play.

Happy to see some Krish krush.

This has been really enjoyable @Windwalker . I hadn't watched much televised poker in a while but this has been a blast rooting you on every week and seeing you get some good cards this past week paired with good play. Bravo sir.

^^^^this. These guys are paying attention to stuff that is next level and only comes from playing live 20+ years. Don't do anything to help them refine their algorithms on the fly. If they are motivated to go back and watch the stream fine, but don't make it easy to be exploited.

I always shy away from discussing my thought process and logic on any call or fold because I don't want that to get exploited by competent players.

I must say for someone who can afford to play the stakes you are playing on live TV (which 90+% of the forum could not afford to do), you remain pretty humble. You take criticism well. That attitude makes it pretty easy to root for you when watching the live stream.

I think that's a phenomenal insight. Nice job, congrats to you and @Senzrock .

Remember that poker between equally-skilled players is mostly a way to shove money back and forth across the table (or across several sessions) while slowly losing it all to the rake. True poker is played not between peers but against suckers, and it's hideously effective at taking all the suckers' money and handing it to the sharks. An easy way to tell who the suckers are is that they love to gamble.

Garrett makes his living playing poker, and quite a living it is. That money doesn't come from nowhere. When you sit at the table with him, always consider how much you feel like funding his lifestyle.

Money is relative to everyone, and I’m ok with the losses I’ve taken to learn what I’m learning, but hopefully, I get better. Thanks for joining me on that journey :)
Thanks for letting us come along! The first step in getting better is wanting to get better, so you're already ahead of the average joe right there. We're rooting for you.

Caught up on most of Thursday’s stream. Big difference from the other episodes, you showed a lot more composure. The pauses between decisions really was a really big improvement. Good work.

On another note, Reza seems like such a nice dude. Felt terrible that he got felted time after time and kept buying back in.

That K97 hand with Reza was pretty rough, dudes been getting beat up all day and flops two pair, no good. Last I saw Reza was down 156K I think, but I'm not done the stream yet

He’s honestly the sweetest guy. Just plays too much poker. He plays around 80-90 hours a week.

Do I spy the new dealer buttons on tonight's stream?

Just finished the last stream.

Good play and good cards make for a really good night.

I did notice that you seemed to make your open a little bigger with your better holdings. It's a small thing but possibly something to think about and avoid. If I picked up on it you can bet that the good players at the table did too. If they rewatched the stream anyway.
