WSOP Big 50 - live update thread - road to an all PCF final table (2 Viewers)

Good, I thought not, but being a tourney noob I wasn't sure if I was just being nitty.

People seek to call off lighter than I think they should be for the most part

If he's got like 10-15 big blinds you have to call with it, but not 25. That's too much. He probably had precisely TT, JJ, or AK

What do you have, just another half-hour? Time for a rally!!! Focus. Kill it!

What a GREAT day Mike! Get some good rest, and continue to kill it tomorrow! Can't wait to follow along.
Thanks. What a crazy day. I certainly played well and made some good plays and folds I think, but i owe it to the cards more than anything.

Making a day 2 at the wsop in my first real tourney feels amazing.

Thanks all for the online rails

Good Luck. I'm headed to training all day so I don't have time to check. What are the blinds at? Average stacks? ect......

I don’t believe day 2 starts until Monday. There’s still 3 more starting flights.

Apparently the money won't be until late into day 2. Lame
That's actually not too bad for a tournament this large. Hang in there, you're half way there (:

We've had a representative from Seeking Alpha play in the last 5 WSOP Main Events. All made it into day 3 and still didn't get into the money, which has been at the end of day 3 or in day 4.

Fold. Structure is slow, you’re deep, no reason to risk 20% of your stack to a 10x 23bb shove. Unless he’s been shoving often and light trying to steal blinds a lot, more often than not you’re flipping with a small pair for uneccesary variance. Pick your spots, attack uncontested chips vs marginal spots. IMHO this is a fine fold.
I agree with this ^^^^

Plus, with your raise in front of him, there's a decent chance the all in has one of the following hands, which means you're either dominated or a coin toss at best.

AK
AA
KK
QQ
Any pair

Day 1a of Event #3: Big 50 - $500 No-Limit Hold’em is a wrap. The first flight drew a massive field of 6,148 entries, putting this tournament on track to be the largest in WSOP history. The survivors of this flight will be returning for Day 2a on Friday, May 31st at 5 p.m. local time to continue to battle towards a guaranteed $1 million top prize.

Blinds at 2k. I raised utg to 5k with aq offsuit and the SB shoved for 47k.

Tourney experts, what should I do there?
If SB is competent he won’t shove on your UTG open very wide. Fold with AQo is fine. You’re far enough from the money that ICM isn’t too big of a factor and a call isn’t terrible but I lean fold.

Snap call if you were CO or BU though.
