WSOP ME Last Longer Bet ***Spoilers*** (1 Viewer)

We only lost one player in Day 8 and going in to Day 9, 2/3rds of the field is PCFers. @Seeking Alpha Social Club added 43% to his stack and is sitting on 156 million. @bergs is just under an average stack and sitting in third place with @detroitdad just behind him. @MatB is the short stack, but with 20 BBs and an M of 8, it's not quite fold or shove (but it's getting close).

Today, they will play down to 3 players. Blinds are 400,000/800,000/100,000. Here are the current chip counts for the start of Day 9, as reported by WSOP.com. The number in parentheses is their position at the end of Day 5:

Seeing Miles' stack posted above was much bigger than what the coverage on TV showed and Cada pushing with TT, I figured the hand they were playing was about to bounce Cada.

Bummer... I would have liked to see Cada be a two-time champ.

I'm really sick of this Dollar Shave Club commercial...

Now let's see Manion dump his stack to Cynn and we'll go to Day 10 with 3 PCFers in the hunt.

Well, we're at the final 3, and they are all PCFers.

@detroitdad was healthy after knocking out Cada, but not 238M healthy. It looks like he took a big pot off Dyer by flopping bottom set to Dyer's two pair. Cynn did, in fact, knock out Manion. The smallest stack in our pool to start, @bergs has 80 bigs going in to the final day, just under the average stack of 131M. @Seeking Alpha Social Club finds himself in uncharted territory after Day 9: not the far and away chip-leader. We'll see how Dyer plays the short stack, starting with only 16 BBs.

Remember how I was pushing for starting with Day 7, not 6? I wonder who was 12th in chips on the start of Day 7.

Some deep state pizza wedge detroit conspiracy stuff going on against me.
 
Holy crap! Epic finish!

So as expected, Dyer was in fold-shove mode and it worked until it didn't. He ended up getting knocked out by Miles pretty early. Dyer was not only at the top of the leaderboard from Day 5 forward, but by a large margin. I'm sure Dyer is disappointed about his third place finish, but it cannot compare to how disappointed @Seeking Alpha Social Club is in getting knocked out of this contest.

So it was heads up between @detroitdad and @bergs, two guys who came from the tough streets of Baltimore... Wait, that's a different story. Two guys who came from the back of the pack to find themselves heads up at the WSOP Main Event.

I was playing cards at Bill's house, watching it on @Marc Hedrick's phone. Marc had an interest because he had a piece of Dyer. And I had a small piece of Cynn in Bill's final table contest. Cynn and Dyer traded the chip lead back and forth while at Bill's. Not by a slm margin, either. One player would be up 40M, then a half hour later, the other player would be up 65M. Cynn had a dominant lead a couple times (like 2:1) and then Miles would be back out front. I came home from Bill's and watched the rest... By watched, I mean dozed, and woke up to see a couple hands. Then finally woke up to tennis and checkes WSOP.com for the finish.

From what I saw, Miles was more aggressive and Cynn was more conservative. I saw Cynn fold the best hand several times to Miles' aggression. Marc said that Cynn's rail was taking copious notes. Perhaps that helped and Cynn learned how Miles was shoving him around ([soapbox] That's an unfair advantage and not poker. It shouldn't be allowed. The FT should be phone free, IMO. I wouldn't even object to sequestering the final table for 2 days. [/soapbox[). The last hand, Cynn had a big pocket pair that flopped a set, but he let Miles take the lead. When Miles turned a pair, he jammed and Cynn called, leaving Miles drawing dead.

I hope everyone had fun sweating the final table. Next year, I'm considering adopting @Jonesey07's idea and ending the contest after Day 5 and giving everyone multiple picks in serpentine fashion. But for this year, Cynn is your main event champion, and @bergs takes down the $520 for first place.

Btw, Cynn called Miles' 3-bet re-raise with KJo, and then smooth-called with trips on the KK5 flop. When the turn 8 paired his Q8, Miles moved all-in. With just the 6th best possible hand, it was not an easy call for Cynn, who would have been left with crumbs if he called and lost -- although he had Miles drawing dead, he was very concerned about AK, KQ, K8, K5, 88, and 55. He finally called after several minutes, and it was reluctantly almost as if he expected to lose.

I haven't seen the hand, but I watched post-finish interviews with Cynn and Miles. Miles said partly because he thought he saw a T in Cynn's hand (and even said as much to Cynn during the hand), and partly because of exhaustion, he bluffed at it (he said bluffed, but with a pair of 8's against (what he thought was TX), it's more of a semi-bluff, IMO). I read that Cynn tanked before calling, I assumed it was an inst-call, but he had the presence of mind to slow down and think through all of the options before calling.
