Most have been relegated to the basement

I need to purge a bunch of brewery glassware.
Then I’ll be at a normal and healthy amount ..... :wtf:

For sure !! I'll put a few glasses aside for you.

This is much more affordable (Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale) and very close, 10W-40 is also similar with a fruity back end. I would suggest trying those before the Dark Lord.

It can be difficult to get a golden ticket for Dark Lord Day.

The Utopias is a few years old now (2013) and still unopened, it typically tastes like brandy.

For me, I've had Trappist Westvleteren 12 a hand full of times, once at Dark Lord day, dude said who wants some, from in front of me in line, I was in awe that he was soo cool. It is one of the best beers I've ever had.

The best RIS I've ever had was Darkness from Surly in Minneapolis. Hard for me to imagine that Dark Lord could be better, but I'm sure it's just as good.

Where can you get Utopias?

I will happily sell you this one for 10% below market value,, hahaha

Where to find Utopias:
The brewers make fewer than 15,000 bottles of this limited-edition beer due to the long aging required. It will be available at select specialty beer and liquor stores starting this November for a suggested retail price of $199 per bottle. (c2013)

And I think it has to be a distributer that sells a very high volume.

And here is a Liquor store selling one (1). I'd hook you up for less than the $699 they are offering it for.

Have you tried Kate the Great? Was a RIS that was brewed at Portsmouth brewery by Todd Mott. People went nuts for it.

ITs now brewed at Tributary under the name Mott the Lesser.

I wish. When I first starting home brewing I was reading about Kate the Great. I found a clone recipe for it, and another somewhat different RIS, and created my own recipe based off both of them. It turned out pretty good, but I have never gone back and re-brewed it to try and improve. I haven't done any brewing in the past two years, but someday plan to try it again.

One day soon I'm going to schedule a beer vacation to the NE to hit up a bunch of the best breweries in that part of the country.

From what I understand the move was permanent. I hope not, though. That was one helluva brewpub!
Yep, permanent. Loved that place. Best brewery in Indiana, hands down, brewpub or not. And we actually have quite a few. Been to a couple Dark Lord Days. Definitely an experience to be had if you can make the date.

Big fan of Asahi! - pretty clean and clinical when chillled ;) - easy to get in the UK so assume it is everywhere else too

I don’t drink beer much (doesn’t agree with my stomach sometimes), but I love IPA. This double is just bitter enough, but smooth.
