Anything craft!!! I’m on an ipa binge at the moment and there’s a great brewery in Vancouver bc called superflux and they specialize in ipas. Not sure how far their reach is outside of Canada though

That sounds interesting. I had a beer ferry deliver some spectacular Treehouse IPAs this week.

Tree House Concert Beer American IPA 6.8%

I really like this one so next week if it’s still on the menu I’m going big. Also, this is probably one of the best can art examples I’ve seen from them and that says a lot

All this has got me a little bit excited. Getting ready for Treehouse beer run number three and Pennsylvania sprint car racing number two. Leaving Wednesday

As you all know, I am in the middle of remodeling my basement with the addition of a small 4' wet bar. I only drink Heineken and was thinking of getting something Heineken related for the area.

What is your beer of choice and do you have anything related to the brand? Sign, glasses etc.
Heineken. It was my Dad’s favorite and now mine.

I had a few of these on my last Tree House run - very good.

It’s a very sad day for me. I am mourning the closure of my favorite local brewery - Magnanimous Brewing  The Tampa location will still be open, but the Bradenton location closes on June 30 :(

Our beer of choice at my poker game is “Lion Red” or more affectionately known as “Lion Rouge.”

Not good, not bad but cheap and cheerful. This is a fun review on them ->

The Heineken’s have been sitting there for a few games now!
Good post, perfectly focused on preferred beer rather than glamour pics. Thanks. Want to try one.

EDIT: Ah, from NZ so practically local. Will pick some up.

Yeah I used to stock 4-5 different beers but my apes are simple people so just go with the Reds now. They are $36 for a 24 pack when on special at the supermarket so good value for a perfectly average beer haha I’d imagine you could get some in Perth for sure!

Not sure what a comparable beer in Australia would be, Great Northern perhaps?

For value, try Trader Joe's beers. The IPAs are $5.99 a six-pack and decent. The double IPA 8.5% is a great value on top.

So the IPAs do taste different than typical IPAs and I'm picky, but I do actually think they are decent. I lqqked up some reddit reviews and 80% seemed to trash them. To me it's kind of like Sweet Water IPA. It's an IPA with a unique taste. The first one is just ok, but once you get into your 4th one you're in the zone. I'm thinking.....hmmm for a dollar, fuck yeah!

Buy at your own risk I guess. lol

Especially the DIPA

Reddit post:

Boatswain IPA + DIPA

So I picked up a 6 pack of each of these at Trader Joes, because for $5 a 6 pack in CA, that is hard to turn down.

I came into the experience open minded and not expecting much, but holy fuck these are two of the worst beers I've tasted in my entire life. The beer looked sickly clear, tasted like someone's badly oxidized homebrew, and neither had any IPA character at all.

I have wasted a lot of money on shitty beer, but do you know how bad a beer has to be to be a collosal waste of money at $5/6?!?

How did this happen? How did this stuff even make it out the brewery door, through Trader Joe's product vetting process, through Trader Joe's distribution system and then be allowed to stay on the shelves long enough for me to have the chance to buy it? If this had come out of my 5 gallon bucket at home I would've declared it a dumber, and I am a pretty mediocre to bad homebrewer.

No beer is worse than Magic Hat #9. Had one sip one time and spit it out.

Damn, that's a fine price for a carton. Aussie alcohol tax ruins price for us.

I reckon the local equivalent would be Gage Roads, pretty standard and simple, but affordable. They do a few craftyish brews. But my crew are strictly BYOB, since they prefer no money and occasionally micro games... I find it hard to offer free drinks. If they chip in I'm tempted to do share a growler of something special.
