Wonder why we don't see chips with giant denom font more often.
Start reading the chip design threads, and see just how many get the advice "make the font bigger".

Chip designers either
  1. design the chip on a monitor, and never see it at actual size until the chips arrive or
  2. think that their logo is the only important part of the chip, because everybody knows what their chip colors are worth
Either way, these little Texas card houses don't have a state board dictating how big/legible a denom needs to be, and they sure as hell aren't going to PCF to get advice.

Now that I think about it, I bet it's management pushing for logos to be bigger.

While Resorts World is spending money on RFID chips even on $1s, while others are going to hot stamps or icons.

I officially murdered a chip for research purposes, yeah dumped a chip for science.

Inside the inlay, there is an another layer of clay with RFID chip stuck inside the clay. Had to microwave, then wires came out.

Meh, Resorts world just opened and I believe will have a long future ahead of them. Murdering one for research is just fine. Hi NSA!

I got tired of clicking through the new chips page on ChipGuide and hacked together a little prototype. Would this be helpful to polish and release, assuming I have the site owner's blessing?

Clicking a chip takes you to the ChipGuide chip page.

Fucking magic. They will burn you at the stake if you float. That’s a highly proprietary sophisticated system designed to protect their incredibly valuable intellectual property.

It looks like you are using Date Update and not Date Added. The $100 Golden Nugget chip was added in July but updated recently http://chipguide.themogh.org/cg_chip_search.php?ccg=306387

Sometimes they update details like colors, molds or the image. The daily email lists what is actually updated. This was

Good callout. I'm using updated if available, added if not. But let me see if just added is cleaner.

Nothing on this page violates their stated terms of use. Still, I don't think this is the use case they were envisioning, so I figured I'd check in.

No violation at all. So the whole reason we started the New Release Alert project was to notify collectors of new chips issued by casinos. Most states to include Nevada now no longer list the approved chip list. By doing the search above you include a lot of new chips added to the guide that are not currently on the tables but are new finds. So in this group you have a mixture of current and obsolete chips. We try each day to identify what is current and no include chips that are update or older chip discovery. There are also instances that a new variation of a chip will be added like a LCV/SCV but it in the spirt of this thread it does mean a new chip. Now if you want us to discontinue this thread and you do your thing we have no problem doing that.

Love seeing your updates, please continue :)

The new list will be automated, it won't have the the curation and details this thread provides.

What type of chips are these? They look kinda like clay but I’ve not seen clay with spots like those?
They are plastic. We saw these types of chips show up 2 years ago at the Lodge Casino in Black Hawk Colorado. Not 100% who the manufacture is as there is no mint mark.

Where is GN Tahoe chips?

They have the exact same edge spots as current GN $1 a lot.
