As good as the SB $500 is, the RPC $500 crushes it!
Nothing beats the SB $500…..

Clash of the titans!! My two big boy (43 mm) sets are basically complete (still need to relabel the ES .25s to SB 1s and find a rack white bear claws for the BTP 1s - hello @bergs, a rack of ur white Truman’s would be awesome). But these are fully playable now. I love both of these sets!!

big o runs 8 max. Plo runs 9 max. There is absolutely no holdem played in this house. I am gonna get a new dealer chair. The dealers like to sit higher so I will likely get a drafting chair. Also, gonna get a new table with dealer station. Starting that process now. I am leaning towards no cup holders in the rail so I can switch between 8/9 players. Have not decided yet.
I recommend gorilla gaming chairs. Love mine. They make a dealer specific chair.

That is a good choice, but now that I have deviated a bit from bear claw for the 5s I am thinking of just using the ES $1s. i have a rack of those already and think they look pretty good with the set.

Love a lot of your relabel work but not a huge fan of this. There’s something so specific about sets with all one spot and particularly the bear claw of the BTPs, really jarring starting with the ES $1

As I nurse my wounds from the absolute ass beating I took last night, my spirits are lifted a bit by the mailman who dropped these gems on my doorstep. Great mail day!

First we have some RPC $5 which will promptly be relabeled onto BTP $5s. I was unable to find bear claw whites or reds but I think the cat paws are close enough and look really nice with the set. These will complete my BTP set. Really looking forward to playing with these. The $100s are one of my favorite chips.

Next up is my first plastic set. Matsui…. I think. These are really nice in person and shuffle really nicely. Love the 43 mm $500s. They are a bit slippery thou - maybe cause they are new. Can’t wait to get these in play to try them out. And a nice little present - 2 dealer buttons. Thanks @suited67!!

Amazing set! I’ve been shuffling a sample of these nonstop recently in anticipation of the Zens group buy.

Been giving the process presented in this thread some thought. You seem to like chip projects, maybe something you’d consider?

Thank you. Yes, I am considering trying that process. I wanted to try the set out first to see how slippery they actually are and if it affects play before I do the deed.

Agreed. But hard to find a white bear claw and now with Paulson discontinuing that edge spot it’s gonna be that much harder. The only good news is that I really don’t use $1 chips.

I've done it to a barrel of emerald bay chips, it helps. It is however slow and really boring. I can't see doing it to an entire set.

That being said, they aren't as bad as some people like to claim they are. Interested to see how the Zens compare to the Emerald Bays. Some of the other Matsui GBs were much slicker than others.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure the Radissons are a different type of chip, made from a different material, than the Emerald Bays and Zens. As I understand it, Matsui has a line of chips that are ABS and a line that are, um, something other than ABS. The Emerald Bays and Zens are ABS; they're square-edged, razor-sharp, and hard. The Radissons are different, and they have a texture to them that the ABS chips don't.

Which line of chips is less slippery?

They both seem pretty slippery to me, but I've only got a small sample set of each and can't judge very well how they handle in a real game. The square-edged ABS Emerald Bays seem a little bit stickier, but still pretty slippery.

I have a set of emerald bays and the WPS. Love them both primarily for color, design, and sharp edges. The slippery factor is a negative but I still enjoy the sets as part of my rotation.

So, I am the process of buying a new table. With Tony no longer taking orders (and a year wait even if he was) I am looking at other builders. One builder does 1.5” raised rails (See below for an example). Is that too high? Any thoughts from our table experts Following this thread? I already asked Tony so I know what he thinks. Let me know Thanks!

1.5 is too much. 1/2 to 3/4 inch is the sweet spot, IMO.

I LOVE the look of raised rail tables, but I played on one this Thursday for the first time, and my neck and shoulders are still sore today.

Edit: to be fair, this was a home made table that MIGHT have been comfortable if he cut 2" off the legs.

This table is definitely not uncomfortable. A friend of mine has the same table and comfort wise it’s fine. However, I just don’t know if it is a bit too hi. The builder says it needs to be 1.5” hi because of the way he constructs the lighting system. But, even thou the lights are very cool, I will never use them so they are not necessary. I am Probably way over thinking this…….
