A Glimpse Inside the Goldfish Bowl - poker analysis, pr0n and random thoughts (4 Viewers)

looks great but i think there is an opportunity to do something with the letters or the background space. seems a little too plain atm. how about some sort of animal print or claw marks layered over the top of it to give it a bit of pop/texture

Welcome to the obscure land of disc golf....

So, I had an opportunity to buy a custom poker table from a good friend, which was built by Big Slik Poker Tables. After speaking with Eric at BSPT about modifying that table and about the many possibilities available on a new custom table, I quickly became convinced that building a new custom table was the better way to go. The deposit has been made…….. 5/6 week expected turn around time. The count down begins! Let’s goooooo!

That's a good point. You could also try Animal on the left of the logo and House on the right of the logo. That might look pretty sweet.

EDIT: Attached a quick mockup of it. Of course I don't know what font you had. I like your font much better. This would need a little bit better alignment.
This layout is my favorite. I don't like the lines - this feels more distinguised yet Animal House at the same time.

I now have samples for Sun fly and abbiati (and I have my Raddison matsui set). I like them both a lot. However, side by side you can see that the sunfly colors are more muted - not necessarily a bad thing (the matsui chips are very different than the Sun fly and abbiati). I think the abbiati chips are a bit heavier than the sun fly and shuffle a bit better. But the sun fly chips appear less slippery. I will think on it a bit, but I am leaning towards abbiati.

they all have their place. remember that with the sunflys being ceramics you are only limited by your imagination!

I own both SunFly and abbiati sets and I prefer abbiati by a MILE. Honestly, abbiati is on par with Paulson for me.
I love both. IMO the Sunfly 43mm sound better and feel pretty darn good. The colors are a little muted compared to full on plastic, but they are less slippery and I love shuffling them. The Abbiatti chips are very vibrant, and stack pretty well (for plastic chips.) But I don't like the sound they make when shuffling nearly as much.

I own both, love both, but not sure which I would pick If I HAD to remove one or the other. And that says a lot, considering the differences in price point.

So, regarding my 900 chip relabel set that I was selling, someone suggested using the reds for a high denomination. What a great idea!! I typically only use 43 mm for hi denominations but that is to make sure they are easily distinguishable. But because the radiant reds pop so much they could easily work as 500s despite the smaller size. This will be a crazy non traditional set for sure. So I pulled the sale and will be making a new relabel set! Whew! Almost made an instantly regrettable sale! The only question is black 100s or purple 100s. I am thinking purple to really mix things up. All thoughts welcome!

So, I received the pinks from @ImCrossland today. They are awesome in person btw, but I am not sure they are a good candidate for 5s for this set (they overshadow the $25s because they are much better looking). I think I made a big mistake selling the yellow cdm $1s.
This was the original set:

Then it went to this (this is okay):

Now it’s this:

Hmmmmmm. Now I think I need to build a completely new set around these pinks.

After nice lunch (and chip purchase) with @JustDave, I am once again moving in a different direction (I think it’s called zig zag)…….

Option 1: similar edge spots

I think option 1, you'll need another rack of 1s clearly. Finding a $1 would be key, something blue ideally with the same spots. Rifle Steins or see here: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...c-4d14-semi-custom-relabel.74571/post-1511664

I think you know what you'd have to do for a $500.

I think that paris $1 works really well with the snapper and I'd build a different set around that. Build off of 4 small spots to 4 small spots with 'wings' to maybe the narrow double spots:

to 6 narrow spots to a bear claw?

Finish with 8?: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/data/chipdb/chip_content_icons/one/1/1032.jpg?1640912753

Option 1. The green $25 and gray CDM's would have dirty stacks and pots, I think.

Anyone ever been to this poker room in Dallas? A friend of mine has gone a couple times and reports that the PLO games are pretty good.

I hosted a 12 player game last night. Every time I clean up the basement after a poker game the only thing I think about is damn squirrels..........Thank you very much @Goldfish lol
Hahaha. It’s unbelievable how messy they are. I have 3 trash cans place around the room and they still leave crap everywhere.
