Are CPC Rounders Chips Worth the $$? (2 Viewers)

You could keep the quantities of .25/$1/$5 for your cash games and do a T25 based tourney with the following breakdown (400 total):
T25 - 120
T100 - 120
T500 - 50
T1K - 75
T5K - 35

Great 1 table setup with 12/12/5/6 starting stacks.
Best thing is, you’re not mixing any chips from your cash game.
@Colquhoun I'm going to go with your recommendation here but I had one question. Do you see any issue with changing the following:

$500 - 40 (vs. 50)
$1,000 - 80 (vs. 75)
$5,000 - 40 (vs. 35)

Really no reason other than my OCD and wanting even barrels for each denomination :D.

Only issue with those numbers is that there wont be enough $500s for a 10-person with 12/12/5/6 starting stacks.

But you could always go with the great setup for a 10 to 20 person tourney:
t25 - 160
t100 - 160
t500 - 80
t1K - 140
t5K - 60

That fits barrels nicely. :ROFLMAO:

Good to know! And yes, your breakdown above would definitely do the trick. But, having gone from a 500 order originally up to 1000 now, the price tag is high enough...not sure I'm ready to take it even higher with another 200 chips...haha!

But boy...you guys sure are good at spending other people's money!

Definitely, love these chips. You won’t be disappointed. View attachment 870018

This might be my favorite rounders set.

I don't like CPC's stock $1000 or $5000. Thus, if/when I seriously consider a rounders set I'll do something similar. I.E. I'd get stock $25, $100 and $500's but would pick my own colors on 614 for the higher denoms.

Your other decision is...Do I want to buy 3 racks of $100 chips to reenact the scene in Rounders?
Now that you mention it, it is quite tempting to adjust my breakdown to accommodate three stacks of high society!

I still do go back and forth on adding the higher denoms or sticking to the lower. I agree with the others in that the $1K and $5K chips are kind of blah and not my favorite of the bunch. So, I'm tempted to go back to my original breakdown of using $25's through $500's for tourneys (which would accommodate more racks of $100's).

Then down the road when/if we get some kind of group buy for some custom $1K and $5K's, grab those then. I really like the orange ones I've seen posted. Decisions...decisions...

I originally built my Rounders set to be able to re-create the final heads up match. Then expanded from there :)

Nice! I really like your $1K chips. Were those standard when you got them or a custom order?

My set has custom $1ks and $5ks. To me the appeal of this set was always the rich, dark base colors, so I continued with that trend with the 1k/5k instead of getting crazy with DG colors.

I initially ordered these as part of the "let's get the scroll mold back up and running" suedo group buy back in 2014. Back then they only had the main chip designs from the movie chips ($1-$500), but they allowed folks to add a couple custom chips to cover the higher denoms. The scroll mold doesn't run very often, so getting custom denoms nowadays takes a lot more time.

@Irish that is a beautiful set! I actually like the yellow $1Ks the more I look at them (even though I said earlier I wasn't a huge fan...) and like @Colquhoun said, the brown is a classic color, but it's a little blah with the gray/white edge spots. I'd definitely be interested in swapping those out some day (when I get them, that is).

I love mine. When I was considering a purchase, I looked at it this way. Lots of PCFers have Rounders sets, but you almost never see them up for sale.
That's a great point. I posted a "wanted" ad and got one hit, but his set is much heavier on the higher denoms and I really want to be able to do cash games and tournaments.
