When I'm drilling the holes from the bottom of the table, the hole saw keeps hitting small nails coming in from the outer edge of the table. Has anyone else had this problem?

I did not and just did this with 4 tables. Biggest issues were the legs getting in the way and I needed a pipe cutter and then the drill itself would seize and go spinning into my calf (I have a huge bruise from it lol). My suggestion is go slow and don't put a lot of downward pressure on the drill, let the weight of it and the hole saw do all the work.

Yeah, I moved my center holes a half inch toward the middle of the table and solved the first problem, but probably was using too much pressure and may have burned out my drill (which started smoking). I'll let it cool off and try again.

the 3.5" "dual bottom" like what I went for
Does the dual bottom version you went with fit a beer/Coke can so it goes all the way to the bottom? Looking at what Amazon shows as the dimensions it seems it might be a little too narrow.

I went with the jumbos after reading recommendations.
Did the folding legs or anything get in the way of the new cup holders? I saw where someone said they had to drill into a leg or rail; something like that. Unfortunately I forgot to bookmark it.

Yes, standard bottles/cans fit in the narrower section. Rock glasses will sit on the wider section albeit the ones I have are a little bit wobbly. I solved this by getting rubber 3.5" coasters that can be inserted to bridge the gap and make my rock glasses sit steady.

As for the legs, the newer version of the table does not have the issue you read about. No worries about the legs in the way of drilling either sized cup holder.

I read that somewhere too, but didn't have an issue. Like @Tony_M mentioned, I believe the issue is resolved if it's one of the newer tables

The newer tables the legs are placed in a better spot. The older ones, just get a pipe cutter. I got the RIDGID 1/4 in. to 1-1/8 in. 101 Close Quarters Copper, Aluminum, Brass, and Plastic Tubing Cutter, Multi-Use Tubing Tool from Home Depot. I took the legs off, drilled the new holes, then put the legs roughly back on to see where I needed to cut, then removed anywhere from .5 to 1.5 off the legs.

After removing the cupholders and drilling the pilot holes, did you flip the table over to use the holesaw from the bottom side?

But do you actually flip the table to the felt side? May be a dumb question, but I'm trying to find the best way
Yes, flip it over face down. If you need some space like I did towards the end I put a 2x4 with a towel over it to prop it up a little bit so that my drill wouldn't hit the floor.

And be CAREFUL when you finally break through the wood that you don't push down too far and cut your rail!

I did it with the table upright from below but if you're not used to doing these sort of things it's best to flip it over like @greedyintern says. Definitely put something underneath if you prefer your floor to not have random holes in it.

Also @Tony_M , I just bought your same cupholders with the dual level. Going to see how I like them compared to my current jumbos. The rubber coaster that you mentioned earlier, where'd you get it?

I got these from Amazon. They're not perfect. Ideally they would be more rigid and slightly smaller to fit but they seem to do the trick.

Thanks! I was excited when I found them also. And I really liked that they were waterproof, not for the risk of spilling or anything, but because it meant that they would have a silicon rubber covering that would work perfect when wedged in.

Close Up of COB LEDs
Here are some close up pics. When you dim them down and look right at them you can see the individual LEDs still, but it is waaaay better than standard LED strips that have an inch or two space between each light.

Should still see plenty of light once I get a topper ordered also.

Thanks for sharing the in depth info. Have you come across any led strips that were capable of changing colors? I picked up a Govee rope led (the one for desks) the other day but unfortunately it is too tall and sits flush with the rail. I haven't been able to track down a similar style with such a low profile.

Sadly I did not find any COB RGB ones that were 8mm. Majority were 12mm. You could try it, it might work? The 8mm fit so snug on my first attempt though, I wasn't going to press my luck with anything else.

But if you really want the RGB, give it a go. Try to find something with free returns if it doesn't work out. I'll circle back if I find anything.

Anyone get one recently and does your’s lean towards one leg? I feel like my new Barrington table has one side that’s taller than the other

You know that the tension wire can be adjusted, right? When I first set mine up, I thought I was going to have to send it back because it was so unlevel. Then I looked at the manual and realized I just needed to adjust the wire. Now it's perfect.

Hey new member here who soaked up a ton of great tips from you guys. thanks! I figured I would wait for my first post until I had goodies so here is pics of my upgrade including a deep rail conversion.

I won’t post all my pictures because some are the basic teardown that I’ve seen here so nothing new but haven’t seen much rail picture help. so here’s my contribution if you want to upgrade the rails. I decided to go no cupholders and use drink tables for personal preference

I bought a roll of 1” foam and fake leather from Joann fabric. the roll was enough for all the rail pieces and 40 filler circles for the cupholder holes (personal pref I saw a couple people say they left the holes and didn’t notice much) I also got 3yd unsuited speed cloth II from YAT
