Not everything will sell out immediately, but the more sought-after or limited-quantity items usually do. Have a plan in mind before the start time, with a backup plan ready to go, and a backup to the backup. Make all your decisions ahead of time, so that when the time comes, it's just execute without having to think.
Plans already in place but just got the fear of hitting the check out button and getting a message that something is out of stock is going to be little disappointing.

I even entered your queue with Andrea for labels pertaining to this sale. That's how much planning ahead I'm doing.

That sucks if it's like that..... My first chip room / set experience and I hope I can get one set together.
You just need to have realistic expectations. Anything you REALLY want, likely a LOT of people want.

Sometimes you get lucky, mostly you don't.

As a veteran TCR sale buyer one of the funniest thing is new users posting "Im goinf to buy this, and that, and that, and this..". You may get one item you want, and again, you probably won't.

Good luck!

Ima try to get a Tropicana set for a friend for Christmas, is there anyway to get more 500? (If I’m successful lol)

I'm just trying to figure out my game day strategy.

Am I correct in thinking that the fun nite and diamond jack $.50 25 hot stamp chips are generally not as good as the $5 $25 full meal deal regular chips? Weight, tactile quality, etc.

And not trying to be negative, just understand, but what's great about the Tachi chips? The seem well loved, but maybe for the price they're ripe for clean up and re-label?

Some super awesome chips are available, I just want to make sure I'm going after the right ones

Those fun-nites are probably better feeling than the others. They’re likely heavier than a similar-colored inlay chip, plus they’re THC.

Easy to starburst stamp these and use them as flexible denominations…..

Same for those IHC’s

I think the hype is mostly for the $100 and $1000 chips. They have favorable patterns and also the rarity of the $1000s as only 200 were harvested in total. 40 of those were auctioned for $450 recently.

Probably a dumb question, but could the hot stamps be labeled over?

You would have to mill them 1st.

Not necessarily. You can label over hot stamps, but if the stamp is deep or the edges raised it will show through eventually. You can most times only use an unlaminated label as well. For a better look and the ability to use a laminated label then you’d want to mill. But plenty of lucky derby ones and fives were simply labeled over with no issues back in the Cleveland days when milling was rare. They had worn, shallow stamps and a recess so they worked great.

Tips to newbies for a Chip Room Sale.

1) Have your PayPal open and logged in in a separate window. This will save you time checking out.

2) Links will go live at the start time, you will need to refresh your screen F5. I look at the US Atomic clock, when I hit the live button. When the links go live, add your item to your shopping cart and check out. You will not know if the item is sold out until you check out.

3) Some items will sell out within the 1st minute, so prioritize your purchases. Since the Chip Room is gracious enough to combine purchases, grab your main item first, check out and go back for additional items. (example: If you want a set and a couple decks of cards, buy your set 1st and place another order for the cards) That extra time can be the difference between getting your set or not.

There have been rare occasions where PayPal allows more items to be sold then are in inventory. If that happens, we will sort by time stamps and notify and refund the order. Hopefully, it will not happen this sale.

Good luck,

Jim

Great tips, Jim! Quick question: Are the items currently in the OP final for the sale, or will you add any last-minute items between now and Friday?

Do you have to have a PCF account to make a purchase? I have friend who is looking to buy and can access this thread and already has a PayPal account. Does he need to make a PCF account?
