I hope nobody minds, but my son is coming in town tomorrow, so I decided to drop off all of the orders at the post office today.

What is cost on the $5Ks?
My math came out to be 9.39, I've had a few people message about 100s and 5k, so won't have extras anymore.

Looking to offload 500s 1ks if anyone can help me.

Price is TCR price at cost plus shipping to whoever's door.

The problem with this is you valued the $100-$1k too high. Sets are available at a discounted overall rate which means lower denoms should be cheaper and higher denoms higher. There’s a reason why there are still $1ks and $100s available for purchase

Just my 2c

I don't think sets are discounted overall. That hasn't been how prices on TCR sales have been in the past (chip prices generally are the same individual and in sets).

The convenience of buying as a set is that you can buy all the chips you need in one purchase (vs in some where you have to piece the set together within limits).

My 2 cents on the individual chip pricing.....

Although I appreciate the logical math behind @greenchip's spreadsheet, I am going to have to agree with @Hotus777

With the difference in price between the T100 and the T100W, we know that TCR valued the 25K chips at $25/chip.
And we know that the 1K is valued at $10/chip. So the 5K (I assume being more rare than 1K, and less rare than the 25K) needs to be priced in between the two.

My personal valuation of the 5K is $15/chip. Which I personally feel is more in-line with 5K chips for other casinos.
With my pricing, this means that TCR does give a "discount" for sets.

I also have a valuation on the 100K as it pertains to what I think TCR would price them at. But in reality, it doesn't matter, because of its rarity and being one of the most sought after chips. So regardless of what I say, the price is going to be set by the market.

If I get 15 or more :cool reactions to this post, I'll reply with my 100K chip price.
If you disagree with my pricing, please put a  :ROFLMAO: reaction on this post.

I really wanted to laugh at this request, but then realized I'd be skewing your results! GLWPoll haha

I got a similar number for the 5K as @greenchip. Only reason I think this makes sense for the lower value is that the 5k (to me) is the clear dog of the set (again my opinion) and one of the biggest reasons I passed on these chips.

Based on breakdowns it seems that the 5k may be more plentiful than normal TCR cash chip sales and hence the lower price point.

Basically, I value $5K chips less than $1K.

Grey chip are less attractive than orange chips. Greys are priced less and much harder to sell based on my experience selling.

$5K < $1K << $25K < $100K
What are you using for comps though? $2 GN house molds? Or just grey chips in general?

I mostly agree with this. I would personally value the $5Ks at about $12. A touch higher than $1K due to the denom, but only a little more because the $1Ks are such a highly desirable color. I would also agree that there is a small discount built in to buying a full set.

I guess I should have sent you a PM instead of asking here and waiting for a reply...

Grey 43mm like Indiana Grand

Even $1s $2s, grey chips are harder to sell. People want metallic silver Paris $2 singles, but not grey GN $2 singles

Your pov is interesting to hear. Makes sense grey isn’t as appealing as a color to collectors. I would think that the fact that Harrahs are housemold and can’t be relabeled would make them less universally appealing here on PCF….at least in quantity.

I always thought TCR pricing was based much more on the quantity Ratios as opposed to other factors. Will definitely be watching how it all plays out. I’d still love to own a set of these.

Personal preference, is a huge factor of what people are willing to pay. It's why I'm hesitant to give my value of the 100k chip.

But I was strictly trying to get into the headspace of what Jim would price it at (if they were offered up as singles like the 100, 500, 1k). And I think that he would go by how many racks he had to sell.
I assume that there are X number of 1k racks, and even less 5k racks, so they would sell for more based on them being more rare.

The 25k being priced at $25/chip was a good call by Jim, as I assumed that there are many fewer racks than the 5k. (And a scant few racks of 100k.) And also people tend to like blue. And it's an extra-large (fat hat) size chip.

It would help to have the total number of chips sold.... but we won't know that until Jim releases them.

Okay I guess there really is no reason to post pictures since I just got a sample set. Waiting for set pr0n that should be up soon.

First thoughts: WOW. The manhole covers (lol) are just beautiful. Hopefully someone tries to unload a sample set for whatever reason. I’d definitely be down for another one. Did anyone notice the gold flecks in the $100 chip? I haven’t read all these posts but not sure if it had been mentioned yet. I think it’s a sign of that era of Paulsons. Heavy too!

In my opinion, this truly is one the best designed chip set to come from a TCR sale in a *long* time. I know mixed molds/house molds/oversized inlays can turn a lot of people off. But the colors are excellent and the design work on the inlays are exceptional. You just don’t see casinos put that much thought into a chip set these days.

Really cool stuff, and I finally finished my DJ collection by adding some dice. I now have mint chips, dice, and cards that I can’t wait to put into play. Top notch all around. Merry Christmas to you all!
