Black Friday Sale 2024 (109 Viewers)

Always Sunny Reaction GIF

This is Jim @TheChipRoom right now.

We are all speculating based off the demand side of the equation. Jim has the supply side and is trying to determine the balance between selling out in 10 seconds and selling only half of the sets. All the while, being a pretty respectable guy for offering some of these sets over the past years at the prices he did considering what some of the NAGB guys put their stuff out at.

It’s like Christmas and we are all wondering who the big gift under the tree is for.

IGNORE THIS MATH, I'M AN IDIOT
I’m willing to bet the T100 will be almost 3k on the dot, unless the 5ks are priced at like $30/chip. T500 is hard to tell but probably (unfortunately) 6k+
You really think he's going to give that big of a discount on the T100? Just the 100, 500 and 1k chips alone at individual pricing would be 3120, and that's without charging anything for the 60 5k. If you put the 5k at the same price as the 1k you're still at 3720, so I can't really see it being lower than 3500. Put the 5ks at $15 each you're right around 4k which is where I got my guess from.

I don't think that's correct. 160x T100, 80x T500 & 120x T1k are $1840 if sold seperately. I'd assume the same price for the T5ks minimum. so plus 60x T5k you end up with at least $2440

$100 160x$1.99=318.4
$500 80x3.99=319.2
$1000 120x9.99=1,198.8
$5000 60x20=1200

add em all together you get 3035 give or take the decimals.

Think $20 for 5ks is way too much. Based on number included I would have to think there are a fair amount and still 43mm. Also the weakest chip in the set IMHO. I'd estimate closer to $12-13.

Yeah, your probably right. Id rather guess high and be surprised by the low prices though. I would personally never pay close to $3K for this chipset, but I am a broke college student and probably cannot speak for a majority of this forum.

I think it may be more productive to speculate how many buyers of the T500 set there are at that price instead of what the price will be. There’s probably only 5-10 of those sets anyway. This isn’t Tiger Palace.

With allowing more than one set, I would imagine there would be more than that.

Really thought these would’ve been cheaper than previously released RHCs/Leaded THCs, might have to pass on this one. Even though, I’m one of the few over-sized label enthusiasts.

I’m sure Jim may have more money into these than previous finds, just didn’t think they would be $10+ chips.

Where are you getting $20 a chip for the $5Ks. That's way too high. Same size chip as the BLAZE $1K, with a fairly boring base color. I would guess $12.99.

Partially because I don’t know what i’m talking about, partially because I was trying to explain to Mandos that even with high prices, 4k is unreasonable.

Speculating is fun. Here are my big dog set speculations. I manually entered the price of the two low chips, then fudged the multiplier for each successive chip, except for the 100k chip, to which I applied the multiplier squared. These numbers cannot be THAT far off...

Wow... Tbh, I'd be pretty shocked to see these at $60 / chip for the $100k. Maybe I'm completely wrong though. I think as singles they could probably go there, but for full barrels within a set that seems optimistic for this market.

I am very curious to see where these land, especially with how dead the market has been recently and how many people are currently lining up CPC sets in the next 2 months. That being said, Jim hasn't been left with much inventory in the past so these could sell like hotcakes at around that price after all. I'm not planning to purchase a set or really much of anything this sale though partially due to personal finances so my opinion doesn't have much weight here.

Yeah I was way off for reasons already explained. We could see that set at 2500 or so on the optimistic side, but I think 3k is a good guess for the upper end. I'm not a buyer at those type of prices so I'm just enjoying speculating
