Buyer Beware--Ruff'd up chips from Big_Dog_FL (2 Viewers)

WOW!!!!! that was s...load of fleabites in one bag. Ive never seen such carnage.

A moment of silence for fallen comrades.

There's every possibility that big dog diddnt even know how bad the results were before he packed them. Good china clays or Paulsons would not fair that bad. This is a manufacturing fault that was exasserbated by packing.

Additionally if there were that many damaged chips in a shipment i sent, I'd make good on that. No Harm No foul. It happened. Forget who's at fault and focus on whos been harmed.

So sorry to hear about this - Hopefully this situation is made right.

Seems like these chips are a time bomb based on this thread and others where people have mentioned their china clays disintegrating during play.

Hi Jawnie

Yeah China clays have varying quality. I have a set of the WSOP replicas on spear and castle mold and there's not one flea bite yet, but some (about 50 out of 1000) have faded a little.

But its in the name - China Clays. They are Chinese knock offs. Not all knockoffs are made the same. There is a likelihood many factories making the same product so there are so many variables.

Im really happy with mine but i got lucky. They really have been through alot and made it through really well. And you dont hear the stories of really good experiences with china clays but there are plenty of them out there.

But that batch of Pharos are about as bad as they get - Period. Ive never seen so may flea bites in one bag!

This jackwad packed them like a douche and you're getting screwed. This @Big_Dog_FL couldnt even man up and say "my bad" and instead accuses you of a false claim? Ridiculous. Take those chips, brush off all the loose shit, put them back in the zip lock bag, put em back in the same box exactly the same way and ship them back to @Big_Dog_FL and let him see what a pile of cookie crumbs he gets delivered. Who knows...maybe that might convince him you're not full of shit or maybe he wakes up to the realization that anyone who reads this thread is NEVER gonna deal with him as far as buying goes unless he refunds your money.

I only have a sample of the old desert palms china clays but to me they pretty much feel as hardy as plastic sluggos except for being easy to snap. I reckon these would have travelled fine, although def not ideal, bagged up in a box if their integrity had not already degraded. The question is if the seller knew they were dying. Others who have these bad batch pharos 1s know their crumbling in their games. Only real option here should be return to sender and get a refund. Sellers chips were cooked before he sold em. He may jst have not known

The seller obviously thought he had some good hard cheap chips that would do just fine the way he packed it. Little did he know the chips were brittle and this is the result. I look at the picture of that ziplock bag of chips and my eyes roll around in my head like a slot machine. Lazy idiot.

Same--really happy with mine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them from Apache again (and I most likely will since this sale fell through), but I'll be more mindful of what to look out for now.

I've had my Pharaoh's for over seven years now. Many, many hours of play in my monthly game. I don't think I have one flea bite.

I'll keep the plastic bag handy if he decides to refund me. I'll even pay to ship them back.

The pile left in the bag looks like all small particles. What did the box look like?

Is there a chance the seller swapped good chips shown in the sale for slightly damaged chips then shook the shit out of them before sending to make it look like all the damage was from shipping?

I may be getting a bit anal but maybe you could weigh 10 or more to get a good sample weight then weigh the bad chips plus pile of broken chunks to see if they add up to how much it should weigh.

New chips from Apache sounds the way to go. As for what you have:

The chip with the large break can be super glued. CC take well to super glue. I know as I have had a chip break like that when it was dropped on a tile floor. It takes a close examination to see which chip is broken.

The red marks may clean up with a Magic Eraser. Test the eraser on a unsalvageable chip first, for color-fastness. I'm fairly confident that it will be fine, but you have chips you can experiment on, so make use of them.

Here's the box. Seems normal?

Heh, I suppose there's a chance that's possible, for sure. Even unwrapped in a plastic bag, would the transit have caused such damage? There wasn't much space left in the box between the bag and the air pouches. That would be pretty diabolical.

This is a good tip. I'll get a magic eraser this week.

Now wait one minute. I have to address you imbeciles who negatively commented without knowing the facts. First of all those chips were brand new and never used. I even sent them expedited on my own dime so he got them in two days. Two days prior to that I sold the balance of the chips. Shipped them the same careful way. The buyer received them with absolutely no damage and commented about how beautiful they were. Even said they were chalky. He was delighted. So I hear from this Nimrod on the day he got his chips demanding that I refund his money. He even proposed that he would keep the chips and the refund! And he holds up a pic of a couple of chips that obviously were not mine. He also talks about color bleeding from Chip to Chip after two days in a box. Ridiculous. You could see a picture of the chips before they were sent. Not one flea bite. They were brand new and never used. I was nothing but gracious with this idiot. I just asked a couple of questions. I wanted to see what happened before I refunded his money. I had to ask questions because I obviously need to file a claim with USPS. Like a jerk he demanded his money that night. And even proposed that he keep my chips and the money! He shouldn’t of even had the chips on that day. I sent them two-day Xpress for his benefit. My reputation on this forum is perfect. I’ve done a lot of business and never had one damaged chip. Everybody is happy with what they get. The condition is always better than advertised. And like I said the gentleman who got his chips two days earlier was thrilled. He obviously didn’t pull some kind of game. Anybody here who negatively commented about my reputation without knowing the facts should be ashamed of themselves. Now I have to figure out what to do about the damage that is caused to my reputation here. I am beyond pissed

I commented earlier about always waiting "to hear the other side of the story", but my main point of curiosity wasn't answered above.

Were the Chips Stuffed in Zip-Lock Bag?:
( ) Yes
( ) No

It doesn't take a paragraph to answer that. I also mentioned it wasn't too late for things to be made right, which is still true.

I'll let this speak for itself. But, for clarification, the refund + keeping the chips was to save him the $17 in shipping because I figured why would he want these chips back? I said 1) refund + you pay for shipping them back, or 2) refund + I keep the chips. Trust me, before learning about the magic eraser idea from @Poker Zombie, these were going in the trash. Most of them are anyway regardless.

Only 3 feedback, why not more if you've done a lot of business? Honest question, I'm pretty new here.

Condition always better than advertised...if you're advertising them as brand new that's a pretty high bar to clear, eh?

They were packaged in a Ziploc bag very tightly. 500 chips. Nobody I know sends China clays in a box. And then they were bubble wrapped. Just like the gentleman who received his China clays a couple of days earlier. He did not have one broken chip. And this Nimrod says he has 500 broken chips. I’ll let you idiot figure it out. All I did was ask a couple of questions so I could file a claim. And this idiot made demands and wanted to keep the chips in the money. I won’t tolerate that from anyone. I’ve never had one broken chip sent to anybody. Anybody who views me negatively is an idiot. They should be ashamed of themselves. They have no information

China Clay is not known to be the durable material chip and with the sort of careless shipping by throwing into a ziplock bag with lot of empty space is going to increase the chances by fleasbite and broken chips.

They are not send to you from Apache in that shipping condition right, at the very least any non lazy shipping done by the seller will have prevented the incident.

Also, regarding reputation you must have a very different perspective of it from the vast majority of the people here but I don’t reallly think you have one to be frank

Listen idiot. They were packed extremely tightly and bubble wrapped. Nobody puts China clays in a box. Tell me why the lot sent two days earlier which was packed the same way arrived in pristine condition with not one broken chip! And I didn’t even accuse foul play. I just asked a question before refunding.
