Hello, new to the Poker Chip Rabbithole. I was wondering budget aside, at all price ranges, what are the best:
  • Playing Cards
  • Chip Cases (1k chips and below)
To look out for, as I'm looking to order some CPC chips soon and would like to compliment them with some good accessories.

1. Desjgn, Davinci, and Faded Spades

2. Apache

Playing cards are a consumable item if you play with any frequency. We play twice a week and go through at least a setup a month. So, at least to me, buy in quantity and don't worry too much about brand. I buy mostly copag but all the other brands are also fine. I buy by the case - 12 setups - at a discount.

If you’re going to travel with your chips at all, I highly recommend the Nanuk cases over other options. They have a two step unlocking mechanism that gives me peace of mind my case won’t accidentally open under any circumstances.

That said, they have proven to be serious overkill now that I exclusively host.

Nanuk 910 for ~ 400 chips
Nanuk 920 for - 800 chips
Nanuk 930 for up to 1200 chips (I’d highly recommend the carry strap if you’re going any farther than driveway to door with 1000 chips or more)

So many replies, thanks for the input guys, will look into these once I get the chips ordered

I'll be travelling around my town a lot to play home poker with friends, and potentially fly around with it to play with friends out-of-state so this would be good to hear.
For now I plan to get around 600-800 chips so the Nanuk 920 + Justin's racks so this would be a good shout, thank you.

Alright got it , copag and faded spade cards seem to have caught my interest at first glance, but will keep looking especially for ones with good deals.

Extra bonus: They sell a TSA approved latch for the case, should you decide to fly with them. Or they have holes in the frame that a 3rd party lock can be used

Those two are pretty much on opposite ends on the stiffness spectrum, FS being the stiffy ones.

What cards one likes is gonna be very subjective, I think FS sucks but they do have quite the fan base. Copags are certainly alright, but a bit too slippery for my taste (lots of top card sliding).

I like and rotate Fournier, Trefl, Dal negro grand slam, Angel club poker and Modiano Alpha

Oh I was just going purely off of design, didn't know there were differences in stiffness

Managed to find a Malaysian retail store that sells Nanuk 920s for a decent price (compared to the original seller + shipping), so I'll defo get these + a simple TSA lock. Thank you for the input.

Hey just in case if there's no way to ship justin's racks to asia, what other good alternative racks are there?

There’s a rabbit hole for cards as well as for chips…
He doesn't know yet that he has entered it.

CPC chips tend to higher than regular chips, so Tina Rack is actually not a good fitted for them.

U should buy the racks together with your CPC purchase, if not you can get racks suitable for CPC from Keywest @dennis63 who is also one of our vendors.

If you want to try Tina Racks, they can actually be easily found in Asia where you can find them selling in apps like Taobao

I didn't notice that CPC sold racks not gonna lie, hopefully they fit well with the nanuk 920 case, since from the photos it doesn't seem to have any top cover for protection.

They should fit fine without the cover as long as you have 2 racks stacked on one another.

If you want the protection of a cover, just pick up an extra 4 racks and invert it on top of the second rack in the case

Cards: >$20 Broken Arrows, Copags, LotFancy are all cards I've handled and enjoyed
Cases: Apache 3800 or 4800 depending on how many chips you get. Able to fully customize the layout i got the 3800 and fits 800 chips inside 8 justin racks, card setup and dealer buttons.

I wouldn't take the risk to order acrylic racks from across an ocean (they can break easily), let alone factoring in the Customs costs.
So, I tend to buy generic racks locally, which are OK for CPCs but too large for Paulsons or Tina chips.
The solution is the following (I don't even know how to call these things in my own mother tongue, let alone in English):

One side is felt, the other side is sticky. You put these things under the legs of chairs and tables. They do a great job in larger-than-necessary chip racks too.
