I wasn't sure where to put this little rant, so I'm putting it here. Yes, it's about the boat chips, but bear with me. I'm not trying to rehash arguments that have been beaten to death.

I have no problem with there being secret and limited group buys to get these chips produced. I applaud the effort I have no problem with the original purchasers selling them at a nice profit. But here's my problem. These chips are being actively traded, and have been for a while. But they are still being retained for the most part within a select group. Now that the secret is out, why can't the full membership participate in the secondary market? Can the GB members please remove the covenant to only resell to other GB members?

Failure to give the full membership access to the secondary market will only serve to make the division within the community permanent. That's my two cents.
 
There is no covenant, agreement, understanding, wink-n-nod, accord, decision or deal to only sell within the GB group. At least none of which I am aware. But I think most participants (including me) didn’t buy significant amounts of extras for the purpose of reselling them, which explains the limited number available.

I will tell you that there is no covenant not to sell outside of the GB. Not sure where this started but this is not true. Also if you look at both sites there have been several sales that were out in the open where these were sold to non GB participants.

Anybody can participate in the secondary market for star (or any other) chips, as far as I can tell. There certainly isn't any covenant / agreement / understanding / whatever --- implied or otherwise -- among project participants to restrict sales in any fashion whatsoever. I've sold and traded star chips outside the group, some publicly, some privately, and I've seen it done multiple times by others.

Not sure on what you're basing your little rant and two cents worth.
 
There is no covenant, and as has already been stated, there are classified ads for these chips in public/open forums.

As I stated in another post somewhere, there are also some transactions taking place (with non GBers) that are being done privately (by email, PM, etc.). With all the bashing going on, I'm sure you can understand why some people simply don't want to deal with that BS.
 
I wasn’t in the original gb and acquired these over a month ago, from 3 sellers who were all open, honest and great to deal with.

I have thought about selling a cash set but I like the chips and cannot bring myself to sell them. I am sure there is a price I would but I do not even think about it. Put it this way, if I was about making money I would have sold my racks of Flamingos for $450 each when the offer came up. Now, if someone offered quite a bit more It might hit a price I would be willing to sell. Not because I need the money or want to profit off of someone but that is the price I would be willing to take to be okay letting them out of my Flamingo sanctuary!

Maybe I need to go back and at the classifieds. I can only remember seeing about 3000 listed.

Yes sir, There have been several sales between this site and CD. Mostly AS Cash and the AS Tourney but there have been a good number and this does not account for the private sales and/or trades that are not listed on any site

Well Megaton sold either 1600 or 2000 of them on CD and I auctioned 1k here. Then there’s Links sales, and those from The Kid, and Gopher’s sales, and...
 
I don't know that there's any exclusive club, I just think that most people aren't interested in xxxx rape. But I bet if you post a want to buy ad, the xxxx rapers will respond.

No comment on which orifice I received my responses into, but said arrangements were consensual and both parties came to a satisfactory conclusion.
