CANCELLED: Group buy interest thread: Gemaco Superflex playing cards (2 Viewers)

One thing I find curious is that on all their old catalogs and current wholesale website, Gemaco markets their Five Star and Superflex brands using the same product codes, and on both they list an option for bridge sized, jumbo indexed cards. I put an email into them under my company name requesting a current catalog and asking what the differences were between the two lines, if any, and what the product codes were for narrow-sized, jumbo-indexed Superflex cards, if available. We'll see what they say.

If jumbo index is NOT available in both poker and bridge sizes for red and blue decks, please cancel my order.

Understood. We are still in the interest phase, so it's not really an "order."

Since Kardwell is doing this deal for us, our choices will be what they have to offer. I will chart out the options for us tonight and we can begin taking orders.

Thank you Dennis for doing this. You are super awesome! (y)

From the op it looks like we may be limited on selection due to quantity breaks. I am sure when @dennis63 gets it all together he will fill us in. We just need to make sure we all honor our commitment once the order is placed. This is a great thing he is doing for the community. I can't wait to see what comes out if this!

^Absolutely. At $10/each, I will be placing an order for at least 8 setups tonight (four each of the bridge size). Thanks, Dennis!

I actually may be interested in more. Am I correct that we are going to learn the inventory tonight and then take official orders?

Yes. I am getting that information charted out now, so it will be very simple to see what we can get -- and what we can't.

That way, we can avoid most of the confusion, I hope.

I'd have to be out also, if there are no Bridge Jumbo available ...

No need to post that anyone is out, since we haven't actually started taking orders.

I completely understand if you had a particular style or design you prefer that is not available today. I hope they get those decks in some time later, and that you get the decks you want..

Really, no one has ordered any decks yet. This was to be the interest thread, so if you've already posted your interest, perfect. That was so we would have something solid to take to Kardwell and get a price.

But you'll need to post that again after 9 tonight in an actual order that says "My order is: this particular deck, this quantity."

Awesome Dennis. Huge thanks for making this happen.

2016 Gemaco Superflex Group Buy: Available decks and options

(Ordering instructions below the chart)

Gemaco%20Group%20Buy%20Chart%20A_zpscrairvrq.png

To order:
Orders will begin after 9 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, March 1.
To order, please refer to your option by its letter.
Include the phrase: "My order is"

Example: "My order is 6 x E." That gets you six (6) two-deck setups of bridge / narrow cards with regular index with a border back, one green and one brown back.

If you've already stated your order, please review the chart, write your order as (QUANTITY) x (ITEM LETTER) and post again after 9 p.m. March 1.

We'll keep orders open for a few days, then place the order for everyone.

Like all group buys, we'll all split the shipping for these to me on a "per-setup' basis. (If 60 people order 200 decks, we'll divide and share the total shipping cost by 200.)

After that, these will be re-shipped to buyers. Flat rate boxes look like the cheapest option right now.

4 setups should fit into a small flat rate box.
24 setups should fit into a medium flat rate box.
Anyone is welcome to drive to my house and pick their decks up.

Thanks to all involved!

I will order later. I know many of you were thinking "no jumbo index". I still think this is a heck of a deal. My thinking is if everyone bought at least 1 or 2 setups this could be a good order. This will show Kardwell we are a good customer group via @dennis63. This may lead to other opportunities in the future for other styles of decks. So my thinking is 2 decks for around $20 to help secure a better deal on future decks. Win- win in my eyes. Small investment for a great return.

Question: how large is the jumbo index on the poker size cards? Is it comparable to Modiano, Copag, etc., or is it the "viewable from orbit" size that Kem uses? Anyone know?

Totally agree. We put in a decent size order this time, and Kardwell may opt to offer other Superflex styles (and maybe even other hard-to-get brands) in the future for Dennis (i.e., us). And $10/setup for SuperFlex cards in ANY style is an incredible price for top-tier cards.

Can someone offer me a review of the Superflex line? Pros/cons? I think I'll be ordering some - $10/setup is pretty filthy for quality cards - but I'd like to know a bit more about what I'm ordering first.

My preferred cards, bar none. A lot of folks rave about Modiano Platinum Acetate, but these are every bit as good if not better. Hard to find at all, even at $25+ per setup (and typically plus addtional shipping, too). $5 per deck is a no-brainer.
