Playing a casino tournament, I had an idea...

Now it may already exist. The odds and play maybe terrible.

We’d need new hand names.

But.. what about Texas hold ‘em but with the pre flop cards dealt from one deck and the flop, turn, river from a fresh one?

I call it chaos hold em. Feel free to mock the idea..... now.

Play that short decked /double board and I think you have a winner!

Better to just mix the two decks from the start, because:
You'd need new hand rankings, as 5 of a kind would be possible.
Nope, just rule that duplicate cards don't count when they appear. So you might end up with just three or four valid board cards..... or zero hole cards. And having position is a serious liability at showdown, if the small blind's Ah means that yours doesn't count. That's pretty chaotic. :D

Taking chaos a step further, no need to shuffle after every hand, either. Just keep going with the (large) remaining deck stub for the second hand, and shuffle every other hand. Slight advantage to those with great memories, but you can always allow players to write down cards they've seen.

That rule is poop. Duplicate cards count, you just can't make up hands like 5 of a kind. You could have four of a kind with an ace kicker.
Hmm. But then what if you had two ace of hearts and a 4, 6, 8 of hearts. Would that be an A-A high flush? NO. You can't make up hands that don't exist. You can apply both ace of hearts toward your flush, but you'd have an A-8 high flush.
This game is dumb.

A flush with 2 Aces is an A-A high flush:cool:
5 of a kind should beat straight flushes, but not royal flushes:LOL:
I hope I won't have to deal with this in the nursery home, one day...
